Derrick's POV
Watching the car leave was like having a part of my heart ripped out. I couldn't tell when exactly, but I was suddenly used to having Nathan around.
I stood there, feeling the familiar sensation in my heart.
A few days ago, I had been told that Nathan had collapsed and needed to see the healer, and now, I couldn't believe I was sending the poor guy out to the border where the danger was towering.
I could not stand by.
Not just that. The border was full of officials who had not seen a beauty in a while. Nathan was more on the feminine side, and he was undoubtedly good-looking. What if they tried to take advantage of him?
It's not like it was an impossible thing—as I had been through that before. I could not sit back. I needed to protect him.
I walked back to my room and packed a small bag. Before I could step out of my room, a knock sounded at the door. I opened it and saw Garv standing there.
"What's going on?" I frowned at him.
