Renar checked the big black metal box beside him again, its cables still plugged into the massive CPU in his cold lab.
Through his glasses, he darted his gaze between the monitor and the box that was supposed to be the cultivator holder for the plain moonstone.
His shoulders slumped back into his chair. One hand propped his head while his fingers pressed hard into his temple, as if he could crush the headache out of existence.
Only two days left until the full red moon, yet the calibration was still stuck at 98%.
He rested the back of his head on the chair.
'Where's the flaw? What am I missing? What should I do?'
His subordinates had already given their best. That 98% alone had surpassed his father's highest achievement—70%.
But for Renar, that wasn't enough. Only 100% would reassure him that the perfect red moonstone could save Lethia's life.
He wouldn't gamble her fate on those damn 2% failure.
