Lethia scoffed in annoyance. How dare he raise his voice at her like that? She shut her eyes, choosing to ignore Varrel entirely. Her mind kept spinning, desperately trying to figure out how to break free from him.
"I saw enough," he said, his voice low and steady, "how that dagger backfired on Terressa, hovering mid-air while you glared at her. And the oracle said it wasn't magic. It was like your energy forced itself out of your body to do that. How would you explain that?"
