Dominic took a step forward, his eyes fixated on Inez as if he couldn't see the mark on her neck. But then again, many alphas were blind to fault. Unless they wanted to see, and unfortunately, for the majority of the time, they don't see a thing.
"Step back," said Killian as he stepped in front of Inez. His lips were curled in a snarl as he stared right in the eyes of the alpha, who seemed to have some unwarranted feelings towards his mate, something that he neither liked nor appreciated.
"You cannot command me." Dominic's eyes flashed wolf as he snapped back at Killian, causing the temperature of the room to rise and the scent of gunpowder to scatter in the room.
"Of course, as an alpha, I cannot, but as Inez's mate, I can."
