Percy watched from the corner where he sat, Kali raising another glass to make a toast. She had gone to a tavern immediately after leaving Rhane's room, promising to pay for the drink and meal anyone would take.
Naturally, Percy was supposed to stay back and enjoy his night. His life was finally going to fall back into its usual place. Rhane had woken up, Jenna was happy. Things were moving perfectly fine. He used to pray for times like these.
After the incident in Kali's room, both of them hadn't said a word to each other. Not that they were no longer on speaking terms. Kali only said things that related to Rhane or Jenna to him, and she kept it strict or short. It was almost as though that night never happened between them.
