Chapter 1 - 1

Quinn looked directly at Chloe's brown eyes. She knew the younger girl's eyes are beautiful, but the moonlight only accentuated its beauty.

With a swift move, she held Chloe's waist tighter, pulling the girl closer as she leans in. The soft night breeze touching her skin, but all she could feel is the warmth radiating from the younger girl's body. She held her breath as she felt the younger girl's breath against her philtrum, minty and sweet.

Instinctively, Quinn closed her eyes as her lips gently touched Chloe's. And it felt like sparks flew all over them, her heart began drumming hard against her chest, and the butterflies in her stomach flying in all direction.

She wrapped her arm around Chloe's petite body as she deepened the kiss, she could feel the girl finally responding to her kisses, and the younger girl began pulling her closer too, her hands, cupping Quinn's face.

The older girl couldn't help but smile as they kiss, causing for the kiss to break. Chloe looked at her confused at first, but returned the smile.

And Quinn would never get tired seeing that smile. That sweet, sweet smile. Actually, she wants that smile to be the last thing she'll see before she dies.

Gosh, she's so beautiful, Quinn thought as she cupped Chloe's face and rubbed her nose against the girl, before leaning in to kiss her again.

The younger girl on the other hand, paused as if not anticipating the second kiss, but responded with such gusto a few seconds later, that Quinn have to fight every inch of her being to stop herself from carrying Chloe in a bridal style manner, drive her to the nearest church and marry her.

And then Chloe pulled away, she still has that sweet smile on her face eyes staring deep into hers before shifting her position to lay her head on Quinn's shoulder.

"The stars are beautiful, aren't they?" Chloe whispered, eyes now focused on the starry sky.

"Yeah, beautiful." Quinn spoke, yet her eyes aren't fixated at the midnight stars, but to the girl beside her.

"And cut!" The Director shouted, and then there's the sound of the clapper, followed by the applause from the crew, "Great job! You guys, first time kissing onscreen and it turned out so beautiful!" The Director stated excitedly as he quickly rewind the scene for him to scrutinize.

Quinn quickly stood up, and held out a hand to help Chloe, which the girl glady took, as she uttered a soft 'thanks'.

"Thank heavens it was just one take." Chloe commented, dusting off her jean shorts.

Quinn's eyebrows shot up as she chuckled, "What am I a bad kisser?"

Chloe giggled as she softly pushed Quinn, "Do you want me to rate that?"

Quinn laughed and ruffled Chloe's hair, a habit she had developed throughout the years of working with the younger girl.

"It's not even a real kiss, why would you rate it?" She reasoned and began walking towards the director.

"Huh? You literally kissed the hell out of me, and dive into a second one, it's not even in the script, if it isn't a kiss, then what is it?" Chloe scoffed, as she tried to match Quinn's pace.

A step for Quinn, is two steps for Chloe. Sometimes the younger girl hates their height difference, but the management told them, it's what makes them cute together. For them, it's perfect, for Chloe... it's annoying. Especially when Quinn walks fast and she had to basically brisk walk.

On the other hand, Quinn had to walk fast. She had to put a safe enough distance between her and Chloe, the girl shouldn't see how bad she's blushing right now, and thankfully, they shoot that scene at freaking midnight.

Chloe and her have been working as a team, or as people would like to put it a love team for almost 3 years now. They started out as side characters or side loveteam at one of their network's biggest pairing.

And thankfully people loved them and rallied for them to have their own series, and here they are now, shooting the final scenes on their own series.

It should've been smooth sailing, Chloe and her are friends. However, she didn't know when did it started but... she thinks she's starting to like Chloe more than what their contracts allow.

Quinn shook her head to shake the feeling off of her as she reached the set, her focus shifted to monitoring their scene.

But her serene state only last for a few seconds as Chloe stood right beside her. Quinn, subtly shifted so that she's a few inches away from the younger girl. She needs to focus right now.

As they watched the scene, she couldn't help but feel the euphoric knot inside her stomach. The people are right, they sure look good together.

Her dark long hair, matches Chloe's flowy ginger brown hair. Chloe's petite frame fits perfectly to hers. Even their complexion contrasts each other, yet blends perfectly.

And Quinn does not even realize it, but her lips have already curved to a smile, same with Chloe.

The Director is right, they sure did a great job.

"That was beautiful." The Director's voice echoed as soon as the scene ended.

"Thank you. We wouldn't be able to do it without your immense guidance." Chloe spoke in their behalf, while Quinn just smiled beside her.

"My pleasure, Chloe." He stated, "Also, Quinn. I loved what you did there, it was really aan impressive improv, and again props to you Chloe for staying in-character." He chuckled, waving his hand to emphasize his words.

Quinn felt her cheeks burning at comment, and Chloe just giggled, "I was surprised at first, but then I knew Quinn loves to improvise, so I just went with it."

"I noticed that actually and you know what? It's a good practice, I know Chloe, you know how important improv is considering your tenure at the industry, but seeing Quinn do that? I'm amazed." The Director continued.

"Ah, don't compliment me too much, Sir. I'm getting shy out here." Quinn chuckled, "But the MVP here really is Ms. Chloe Nam, she's like a mentor to me, Sir. I'm just lucky to have her as my on-screen partner." She stated, feeling her cheeks burn at the compliment, she subtly took a step back bashfully.

Chloe snickered, and pulled her closer, "Oy, don't be shy." The younger girl stated as if scolding Quinn, yet the bubble of laughter in her voice betrayed her.

The Director on the other hand watched the interaction with a smile on his face, it is undeniable that the chemistry of these two is too strong, and charming, and that he is confident that good things will come to this wonderful pairing.

Quinn carefully blows the steaming hot Fish tofu before devouring the savory treat, followed by slurping the hot soup.

"This is a great way to end a hectic shooting day." Her friend and co-star Ivy stated before downing a shot of soju.

Quinn could only nod as she took a mouthful of beef, savoring its delectable taste.

Everyone decided to head to a nearby hotpot place right after calling it a day. Chloe however, chose to stay behind as according to her, her boyfriend will come and fetch her.

"Too bad Chloe isn't here." One of the staff stated, then gulping down another shot of soju.

Quinn felt her heart sink more. One more thing about Chloe is that... she has a boyfriend, a one damn-good-looking fella. And no matter how hard she'll fall for the girl, deep down she knows she could never have her. The closest thing she'll ever get to be with Chloe is through the TV Screen.

To ease her heartbreak, she took another mouthful of beef and gulped down almost half of her coca-cola.

"Whoa, Quinn. You eat good, huh?" Ivy commented, raising her soju glass as if raising a toast at her.

So Quinn raised her Coco-Cola glass and bumped it to Ivy's soju glass.

"Have some soju, Quinn." Nana one of their makeup artist offered.

"I'm fine." Quinn declined politely, smiling shyly at the makeup artist.

"Quinn does not drink." Ivy explained chuckling softly. "But she'll sure do if Chloe asked her to." The girl uttered, winking at Quinn before downing another shot of soju.

Quinn bit the inside of her cheek, suppressing a word from coming out of her mouth, but her eyes glared at Ivy.

Ivy is her industry bestfriend, and she lowkey knows about her unrequited crush towards Chloe Nam, her on-screen partner.

"Don't drink too much, I don't want to take you home." Quinn's deep voice sounded intimidating, but Ivy does not seem affected by it, instead the girk drank two more shots of soju consecutively, and Quinn could only watch in horror.

She's having flashbacks of the last time she had to nurse Ivy when she got way too drunk. Cleaning up her vomit and having to endure her ear smashing snores that time.

"Nah, we're going home early." Quinn stated as she emptied her drink. She was about to stand up when her phone buzzed. She glanced at Ivy one more time before she reached out to her phone.

Her eyes widen when she saw that Chloe had sent her a message.

Chloe: Are you guys still at the Hotpot place?

Quinn typed, 'Yup, are you coming with Gio?' She had to stop herself from rolling her eyes when she typed the name of Chloe's boyfriend as they are in a public setting.

Chloe instantly replied, 'Nah, I don't think he'll come 😔'

Quinn's brows furrowed, her head tilting as she read the reply. Her fingers hovered over the keys unsure of what she'll say, but one thing is certain - she hate Gio.

After a few seconds of typing then deleteing her message, Quinn raan her hand through her jet black hair, before standing up, and gathering her things. "Sorry Ivy, I don't think I could take you home tonight."

"Is there something wrong?" Ivy asked, while the other eyed her in surprise, some with worry.

"Nah, I'm good, it's just Chloe. I think she's still at the site waiting for her boyfriend." Quinn explained, fumbling at her keys.

"What? It's been an hour already." Ivy commented, her voice raising a bit.

"I know that's why I'll go and get her." Quinn replied, her deep voice tarnished with a hint of worry as she nods, and uttered her thanks at her friends her staff before leaving the Hotpot Place.

Quinn heaves and sighed as she finally reached her car. She wanted to curse herself from parking her car too far away, she quickly gets in a revs out of the Hotpot Place.

As she drives, her thought remained on Chloe. How complacent of Gio to leave his girlfriend waiting on him at this hour? It's already 1:48 in the morning. Doesn't he have a sense of care for Chloe.

Quinn breathe out shifting gears as she accelerates. The Hotpot Place isn't that far from the site, she'll be there any minute now. She then tapped on her dashboard tapping 'C' on the search field then tapping Chloe's number, calling the girl.

Usually, Chloe picks up at the third ring, but right now the girl isn't picking up and she's dialling her number for the third time in a row.

Quinn's heart beat louder, as her worry grew. She clenched her jaw as she glanced at the meter, she already reached the highest legal speed and anything that goes over will cause her and her company a scandal that will be sure damn costly, and thankfully she reached the entrance of the shooting site. She parked her car at the side of the road and ran to where the staff usually meets up, while still calling Chloe.

When she's a few feet away from the meeting place and she could already see Chloe's silhouette, Chloe picked up.

"Quinn-"

"Are you okay?" Quinn asked her voice worried, her eyes still fixated at Chloe's form, the girl hasn't seen her yet.

"Yeah, I am. Gio came thankfully." Chloe stated, Quinn could hear the smile from her voice, all while the scene unravels right before her eyes.

"Oh, good to hear." Quinn uttered, as she saw Gio wrapping his arm around Chloe's waist guiding the girl as they walk towards the opposite direction.

"Goodnight, Quinn see you tomorrow." Chloe stated, and before Quinn could reply, the line cuts.

-

"You left your car last night. Did you get home safe?" Chloe asked as soon as she saw Quinn seated at one of the bleachers having a nice sip of her black 'kapeng barako' coffee, script in hand, no make up yet.

Chloe paused, as she took in Quinn's look, she does not know why but the girl looked breathtakingly gorgeous today. Well, Quinn is always pretty it's just that she looked extra pretty today, that she had to double take just to satisfy her eyes. Or maybe it's just her character from the series rubbing off her.

Quinn ran a hand through her black long hair, and adjusted her eyeglass before putting the script down, "Yeah I left it. I rode with one of our staff." She lied, the hurt from last night still burns deep in her heart, but who is she to be jealous?

Chloe nodded and sat beside Quinn, "How's the night out?"

"Good." Quinn smiled, but it never reached her eyes, "How about you, I'm glad Gio was able to fetch you... I was starting to get worried... you know." She stated almost whipering the rest of her words out.

Chloe smiled before she leaned her head on Quinn's shoulder, "Thank you. Ivy told me you rushed here when you heard I was alone." The younger girl revealed, she then eyed Quinn, her eyes soft, and grateful. "You didn't have to lie."

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay." Chloe's voice is quiet, yet Quinn felt a slight shift in the younger girl's demeanor, it is as if Chloe had seen right through her, and that made Quinn's heart drop.

"Well, we're shooting the ending today, let's give it our best shot." Chloe raised her fists, then smiled at her, but Quinn could still see it, their comfortable camaraderie seems to have cracked.

"Yeah, let's nail everything in one take." Quinn replied, mirroring the younger girl's action.

"Okay, I'll leave you with your coffee." Chloe stated then waved, before leaving Quinn.

Quinn breathe out, then ran a hand through her hair. Did Chloe realized that she likes her? Gosh, this can't be happening. She took another sip of the coffee, squinting her eyes as she watched Chloe walking towards the tent. Tilting her head, she thought, but Chloe wasn't mad she just looked a little detached, or was it disappointment?

Quinn stood up and followed Chloe, she threw the paper cup at a nearby bin before running to catch up with the younger girl.

"You're still not my type, you know." She stated once she reached Chloe, wrapping her arm around the girl's shoulder.

Chloe gasped as if she was offended but then giggled as she pushed Quinn away.
