Chapter 190: Mission Failed
The enemy's body wasn't physical—something Killer Bee had not anticipated at all.
So, when Uchiha Obito activated Kamui to take him away, Bee didn't react in time.
The space-time vortex had already appeared and was pulling Obito in, and Killer Bee was about to be caught up in it too.
Just then, in this critical moment, a figure suddenly appeared behind Uchiha Obito.
"Yo, been a while, hasn't it?"
The voice from behind made Obito's entire body jolt, and his movements instantly froze.
Killer Bee also curiously looked past his enemy to see who had appeared.
What he saw was a familiar figure.
"Uchiha Dali?"
Killer Bee recognized him instantly.
Back when they clashed on the battlefield, this man had left a deep impression—he'd nearly been defeated by him.
"You really are like a ghost that won't go away!"
Obito was clearly irritated.
He had been so close to succeeding, but now, with Uchiha Dali's sudden appearance, the capture plan for the Eight-Tails was bound to fail!
"Are you planning to rely on that move for the rest of your life, Obito?"
Uchiha Dali replied with a faint, mocking smile.
"This has nothing to do with you!"
Obito knew full well that Dali's appearance drastically increased the chances of this mission failing.
Still, he decided to take the risk.
He once again reached for Killer Bee, attempting to pull him into the Kamui dimension.
But just then, Uchiha Dali vanished from behind him.
The next moment, he appeared at Killer Bee's side, placing a hand on his shoulder. "This guy's here to capture you. I'm here to help you. Do you trust me?"
"You're a Leaf ninja—how am I supposed to trust you?"
Bee shot back.
But before he could finish speaking, Uchiha Dali had already taken him and disappeared on the spot.
When they reappeared, Killer Bee realized they were already in the Hidden Cloud Village.
"..."
He hadn't even had time to process why Dali had brought him here.
The next moment, he took in the scene of total devastation—his village lay in ruins.
The once prosperous and beautiful Hidden Cloud had become a wasteland.
His adoptive brother, the Fourth Raikage A, was currently engaged in battle with a man wearing a black cloak with red clouds.
Though A appeared to have the upper hand, Bee could immediately tell that his chakra and stamina were nearly depleted.
Bee's expression darkened. "This is…"
"The ones attacking your village are members of the Akatsuki. That guy just now is one of them too. He also happens to be a rogue ninja from the Leaf," Uchiha Dali explained. "Look at their clothes—they all match."
"So you're trying to prove you had nothing to do with this?"
"No."
"Then what are you trying to say?"
"I want you to see for yourself how helpless your village is against total destruction when you don't have outside help."
"..."
Killer Bee had no response.
"We'll talk about this later. You and I still have unresolved issues, Uchiha Dali," Bee said. "Right now, I need to deal with the enemy!"
With that, he leapt straight toward Deva Path Pain.
That was the only enemy still actively fighting within the village.
The Fourth Raikage was barely holding his own, clearly caught in a war of attrition. He wouldn't last much longer at this rate.
The other Hidden Cloud ninja couldn't even intervene in a battle of this level. All they could do was watch from afar.
Only Bee was capable of helping his brother defeat this terrifying opponent.
Uchiha Dali didn't try to stop him.
His Observation Haki had the entire battlefield under control—who was winning, who was about to fall, and who still had strength left were all clear as day to him.
Without his intervention, Nagato—controlling the Deva Path—could absolutely pummel both Killer Bee and the Fourth Raikage into the ground.
Of course, the price would be Nagato's own shortened lifespan, since he'd have to burn even more chakra to make the Deva Path overwhelm both opponents with raw power.
As expected, just as Uchiha Dali had predicted—
Killer Bee rushed in to support the Raikage, but before he could close the twenty meters separating him from the Deva Path, he was struck by an invisible yet overpowering repulsive force and sent flying backward.
Boom! With a heavy thud, he hit the ground hard, stunned and dizzy.
As he scrambled to his feet, the Raikage called out a warning: "Bee, watch out for that move—it's a 360-degree omnidirectional attack!"
"But he has a weakness—each time he uses it, there's a vacuum period. It lasts about five seconds! Use that window to take him down!"
As he shouted, the Raikage transformed into a bolt of lightning, crackling with electric sparks, and instantly appeared behind the Deva Path. With a brutally powerful over-the-shoulder throw, he slammed Pain into the ground so hard his skull looked warped.
But strangely, the Deva Path didn't seem to feel a thing.
He quickly got back up and raised his hand to unleash another powerful jutsu: "Banshō Ten'in!"
Once again, the Raikage had no way to dodge or resist. His body was forcibly pulled toward Pain.
Thud—
Two chakra black rods shot toward him.
Just like before, they couldn't pierce the defense of his Lightning Release Armor.
Even so, the Raikage once again felt that terrifying sensation—his whole body going limp and numb, unable to move.
He realized the problem was with those black rods.
He yelled a warning to Bee: "Bee, be careful of those black rods!"
Bee had seen the entire clash just now.
He also sensed the Raikage's chakra being disrupted.
"A jutsu that interferes with chakra flow and restricts movement?"
Focusing on the chakra black rods in Pain's hand, he quickly analyzed the situation. Then, summoning all seven of his blades, he engaged his kenjutsu-enhanced taijutsu to the max.
He became a blur, his speed so fast the naked eye couldn't track him.
Clang! A crisp sound rang out—the black rod in Pain's hand was instantly cleaved in two.
Then, with a sweep of his blade, Bee struck the black rods still embedded in the Raikage's Lightning Armor, sending them flying.
With that, the Raikage's chakra began flowing normally again, and power surged through him. He immediately launched a counterattack against the Deva Path.
But he was too late.
"Shinra Tensei!!"
The five-second cooldown was up.
The Deva Path unleashed Shinra Tensei again—this time enhanced with even more chakra for a massively destructive blast.
