But the radiant seven-colored blade cleaved down, its brilliance dazzling like a rainbow. Without the slightest sound, the sword-light effortlessly sliced apart the thick black fog as though it were tofu.
And still, the strike carried on!
"What—?!"
Protector Wu's face drained of color. If last time he had lost to Queen Medusa because of carelessness, then now…
This battle had made one thing painfully clear.
He was no longer her match.
Pouring everything into his fist, Protector Wu struck head-on. A violent shockwave exploded outward, rippling across the sky like thunderclaps.
But his strongest attack could not withstand even a moment. His fist against her rainbow sword was like an insect trying to stop a chariot.
Not even a single breath later—
The rainbow blade light shredded through Protector Wu's fist and, in a single merciless stroke, cleaved him in half.
At that instant, the combined strikes of Yun Shan, Protector Xuan, and Elder Eagle Mountain crashed into Queen Medusa's back.
A dazzling golden light suddenly erupted.
At the very moment of impact, a golden armor materialized around her body.
The collision of their immense forces triggered a thunderous detonation, terrifying countless people below.
"Elder Sister!" Butterfly screamed, watching as the three violent blows landed upon Queen Medusa. Her serpentine mouth let out a cry filled with grief.
"Your Majesty!" Yue Nu and countless serpent-people fighting below wore grim expressions.

The rainbow energy around her scattered. Queen Medusa's face turned pale. A flush of red spread across her cheeks, and a mouthful of blood burst forth as her body was flung back.
"She's safe! Her Majesty is safe!"
A cheer erupted from the serpent-people's ranks below.
Yun Shan, Protector Xuan, and Elder Eagle Mountain stared at the golden armor now covering Queen Medusa's body, their eyes narrowing.
When their attacks had struck the armor, more than seventy percent of their power had been dispersed.
"What is this cursed thing?" Protector Xuan muttered in disbelief.
In the distance, Han Feng and the others also paused mid-battle, equally stunned. This was clearly the first time they had ever seen such a piece of armor.
Their gazes quickly shifted to where Protector Wu's body had fallen.
Queen Medusa wiped the blood from her lips, eyes locked on him.
Amid the swirling black mist, the two halves of Protector Wu's body grotesquely fused back together. His already phantom-like soul-body grew even more transparent, his complexion pale as death.
"He… he's still alive?!" Shocked cries rang out from the battlefield below.
They did not understand the means of a Dou Zong, only that a man split in half could somehow reassemble and continue fighting.
It was absurd.
"What are you staring at?!" A serpent warrior bellowed, slicing down an imperial soldier distracted by the battle in the skies, his blade severing the man's head cleanly.
"Damn it." Protector Wu cursed under his breath, then raised his eyes to Queen Medusa. With a sneer, he mocked, "Queen Medusa, you cannot kill this Protector. But you—let's see how long you can endure."
"Attack! Don't give her a chance to breathe!"
Dragging his heavily wounded body, he charged at her once more.
Protector Xuan licked his lips. If he could extract Queen Medusa's soul-body, it would surely be a rare delicacy.
With a sweep of his sleeve, endless black mist surged from him, condensing into a vast cloud that blotted out the sun itself.
The skies over Qinghong City instantly darkened.
Such a display of power caused even Elder Eagle Mountain's face to harden.
Amidst the rolling black clouds, Protector Xuan's figure vanished like a shadow into the gloom, though his presence still lurked, rushing straight toward Queen Medusa.
Yun Shan and Elder Eagle Mountain did not hesitate and followed suit.
Queen Medusa's expression grew solemn. Without hesitation, she erupted with a torrential flood of rainbow energy. The void itself quaked beneath her might, and the suffocating pressure spread far and wide.
"Trying to fight to the death, are you?" Protector Wu sneered coldly. "It won't change the outcome—you will die here today."

Above the city, five figures clashed, their ferocious exchanges like rolling thunder. Silhouettes flickered in and out, and every collision sent shockwaves that rattled the heavens and struck terror into all who witnessed it.
The black clouds roiled. Occasionally, bursts of energy tore rifts through them, letting rays of sunlight pierce down.
And each time that golden light broke through, a figure clad in shining armor appeared in everyone's sight—wounded, yet unyielding.
But after the final ray of sunlight, Queen Medusa's body was riddled with wounds, blood flowing freely.
"It's over!"
Protector Wu roared, unleashing a massive torrent of black mist like a spear of destruction. It struck Queen Medusa head-on.
