Chapter 1 - Mission Mayhem

"1...2..3.."

"Total of seven, four armed. The intel could be with one of them... I have to configure the location of it first before I ambush them..."

Tschk...

There was a sound. Something shuffled. Her eyes darted around the huge room which was filled with metal racks holding cardboard boxes, scanning every inch.

There...!

A random guy was hiding behind the cardboards down below. God, was there another person she had to deal with? Are there more of them hiding around? Black shirt, muddy green pants, dirty brown hair, gun on the belt... Wait, he is holding something...? Her eyes zoomed in. It was a recorder. A recorder? Before she finished the question, she already knew the answer. He was trying to record the thugs' conversation. He's not one of them, her mind approved. But he was definetely not on her side either. But she still did not know who he was or atleast where he is from. Who is he working for? She didn't have time for all this. "Focus...!" At the speed of light, her mind started and completed solving all the complex calculations needed to fulfill her mission:

1. How to disarm the thugs

2. Probable Intel locations

3. Escape from the back door

But there was one thing left. She was sitting on one of the huge industrial racks observing every single molecule move. But now, she has to get down. Not that it would be a difficult task for her, but there is a stupid guy down there that could blow her cover. Her mind rummaged though all the possible ways.

Number one, get to the top most rack and jump on him and probably hit him to death. But that would definetely gain the thugs' attention. Two, crawl across the racks to the other end of the warehouse and get down. That would take too much time. Three, neutralise the thugs from her current coordinates. Then again, there are too many racks in the way. But, there was one non-absurd way. Getting down on the opposite side of the rack facing away from the guy and hope for the best. But she knew better. She knew she could get down without a single sound. With that, she jumped down swiftly like a feline with absolutely no sound as she touched the ground. Sigh. Undetected.

Or so she thought.

"Woah there ninja, I don't think you're in the right place." Crap. It was that stupid guy. What the hell was he thinking? Was this his way of getting rid of her?

"Who's that?!"

"Over there!"

"FINISH THEM!"

Who the hell talks so casually in a place like this?

Great. Just great. She hates it when her plans go awry.

She pulled out her butter knife. (Well, thats what she called it.) It was her butterfly knife. She was the only one who used something like that in her whole agency. She spinned it around, cutting the thugs that came in her way, effortlessly cutting through them (in both ways). The stupid muddy pant guy was busy with dealing one of the big guys. This was her chance. That's it, keep that big guy busy for me, idiot. The table, there it was. Just as she was a few feet closer to it, she felt a hand around her arm, yanking her down. It was the big guy. Wait. That means.... the stupid guy... was taken down. She looked back. The guy was laying on the floor. Well, he honestly deserved it.

Okay take this guy out, grab the intel and leave. For good. She was ready to take him down but her hands... it was missing... her knife..! She couldn't find the knife. The big guy was looking at her, all smug. Little did he know his butt was going get smacked. She leapt on her feet alone like the feline she is and pulled out the gun from her thigh holster. Bam, he was down. She didnt even fire a bullet. She just hit him at the temples. And there he goes dropping to the floor like a dry leaf. All that scoffing got wasted. She dusted her hands. Pickup the intel. Leave the place. And its job done. Or so she thought (again). Mr. Muddy pants was looking at her and.. smirked?! He had that god damn intel in his hand. God, dang it. Why was today being so difficult? She groaned in her head.

Sprinting to the table and she grabbed his shirt and pinned him against the wall.

"Give me that pendrive or-"

"WHOOOOOOP-WHOOOOOOP-WHOOOOOOP"

The sirens! Reinforcements!

She looked back to snatch the pendrive from him, but... he was gone? The back door... There he was, hurrying out. But she knew... that it was too late. On his back, a purple eagle. It was Vexis. He turned back, "Catch me next time, ninja. Toodles~"

Lena was speechless. But the reinforcemnts won't wait until she reacts. And so, she slipped away into the shadows, out of the warehouse, watching the guy rev his bike away with her intel. But it's gone for good now, she told herself, accepting or rather, trying to accept the failure of her mission.
