Chapter 99: Alpha's Chall
"Your kind has ruled through fear for too long," I said, letting everyone hear me. "Alphas, Betas, Omegas... these aren't jail sentences. They're just different ways of being strong."
"Weakness!" Silas spat. "You've corrupted the natural order!"
He lunged at me, jaws snapping. I sidestepped, just barely dodging his teeth. He was fast for his size. He whirled and struck again, this time catching my arm with his claws.
Pain lanced through me as blood welled from three deep cuts. I gasped but didn't cry out.
My golden healing light instantly closed the wounds. Silas's eyes widened in surprise.
"Is that all you've got?" I asked, my voice steady despite my pounding heart.
With a roar of rage, he charged again. This time I didn't try to dodge. Instead, I reached deep inside myself, to the place where my mate links lived. Three golden threads linked me to Kael, Lucien, and Jaxon.
