The palace of Arcania had never felt so cold. It was a little after midnight, yet the entire royal wing burned with light and unease. The walls of the war room pulsed faintly with enchanted runes, reflecting the anxious breaths of those inside.
Around the long obsidian table sat Princess Emeney Snow, Xander, Advisor Gray, General Iron, and Anya, each face drawn tight with exhaustion and dread. The wall directly in front of the table and Emeney, held a big screen showing the map of Arcania and also the five kingdom.
Emeney sat by the end of the table, her hands pressed against its surface. Her eyes, tired but fierce, darted from one report to another. Still nothing from Division One. Every second stretched like a lifetime. Then, three sharp knocks echoed against the heavy doors.
"Enter" She commanded.
The doors opened and Commander Dion stepped in, his sleek military armor half-buckled, face emotionless but with urgency in his eyes. The weight of his presence froze the room.
