Chapter 117 - Get out of here.

Hearing that Qin Dayong was still gambling, Yang Chen slightly furrowed his brows.

Gambling addicts were utterly detestable. In the end, such people only met one fate—losing their families and loved ones.

"It seems like some extreme measures are needed to help him kick his gambling addiction," Yang Chen suddenly said.

"Do you have a good plan?" Qin Xi quickly asked.

In her memory, Qin Dayong had never been such a person. Even though he used to stay home all day with nothing to do, he would never go to such places.

Now, he didn't even come home anymore, and Zhou Yucui didn't care, burying herself in her TV dramas all day.

"I'll need your cooperation for this. Here's what we'll do…" After a brief moment of thought, Yang Chen laid out his plan.

"Won't this cause any trouble?" Qin Xi asked worriedly.

"Don't worry. With me here, nothing will go wrong," Yang Chen said confidently.

After leaving Xiao Xiao in Qin Yi's care, Yang Chen and Qin Xi left the summit of Yunfeng.

About twenty minutes later, they arrived at King's City.

King's City was the most exclusive club in all of Jiangzhou, equipped with various entertainment venues. But the most alluring was the gambling hall on the top floor.

"We're going to the top floor!" Yang Chen walked straight to the front desk and stated his purpose.

"Hello, sir. Please present your membership card!" the receptionist said politely.

Yang Chen tossed over a UnionPay card and said bluntly, "Sign up for two memberships. Any problem?"

When the receptionist saw the black card in Yang Chen's hand, she was shocked. Her attitude became even more respectful as she put on a professional smile. "Sir, our memberships are divided into—"

"Sign us up for the highest tier. Two of them!" Yang Chen cut her off before she could finish explaining.

Since the gambling hall on the top floor involved the privacy of some big shots, anyone wanting to enter had to verify their assets. Becoming a member was the best way to do so.

Soon, two top-tier membership cards were issued, costing Yang Chen two million.

King's City's privacy measures were indeed strict. Going to the top floor required a dedicated staff member and fingerprint verification.

"You can't just throw money around like this! Two memberships for two million? That's daylight robbery!" Qin Xi rolled her eyes once the attendant had escorted them to the top floor.

Yang Chen smiled. "Isn't this the fastest way to get home?"

As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, they saw a table piled with masks, clearly meant to protect the identities of some high-profile guests.

Yang Chen casually picked one up and put it on, then said to Qin Xi, "You go find Dad first. I'll join you shortly."

"Okay." Qin Xi knew the plan and wasn't worried with Yang Chen around. She turned and entered the gambling hall.

The spacious hall was packed with people, many of whom were also wearing masks.

It had to be admitted that King's City was exceptionally well-run. Its commitment to client confidentiality alone attracted many high-end customers. The membership system also ensured a hefty income from fees alone. But the real revenue came from the gambling hall on the top floor.

"Xi Xi, you're here!" As soon as Qin Xi entered the hall, she heard a familiar voice.

She turned to see a woman in a beige dress walking toward her—her high school classmate, Su Shan.

Su Shan's outfit was simple: a beige off-the-shoulder dress paired with light brown high heels, her delicate features lightly made up.

"Shan Shan, where's my dad?" Qin Xi quickly stepped forward, urgency in her voice.

"Come with me." Knowing Qin Xi was anxious, Su Shan didn't waste time catching up. She took Qin Xi's hand and led her to a gambling table.

When Qin Xi saw Qin Dayong, her heart ached. He was unshaven, his eyes bloodshot, clutching a hand of cards.

"Dad, it's been so many days. Aren't you coming home yet?" Qin Xi's voice trembled as she spoke.

Qin Dayong, who had just gotten a good hand, shuddered at the sound of her voice, nearly dropping his cards. Panic flashed across his face. "What are you doing here?"

"If I didn't come, you'd never go home." Qin Xi couldn't hold back her tears at the sight of him.

After just a few days, Qin Dayong had grown a beard, lost weight, and his hair was a mess. He looked utterly disheveled.

"Old Qin, are you gonna play or not? If not, get lost! Don't waste our time," a nouveau riche with a thick gold chain around his neck snapped impatiently.

"I'm playing! Of course I'm playing!" Qin Dayong hurriedly said, ignoring Qin Xi beside him. He tossed a few chips forward. "I call!"

"Dad, stop gambling. Come home with me!" Qin Xi reached out to grab his cards.

Qin Dayong flew into a rage, shielding his cards with one hand and shoving Qin Xi away with the other. "I'm about to turn my luck around! Get the hell out of here!"

"Dad, I'm begging you. Stop gambling, okay?" Qin Xi's face was full of pain—not because of the act she was supposed to put on for their plan, but because seeing Qin Dayong like this truly broke her heart.

"Get out!" Qin Dayong roared, throwing more chips onto the table. "I call again!"

"I'll see you!" Another player tossed in chips and revealed his hand.

"Haha, I win!" The gold-chain-wearing nouveau riche laughed triumphantly, sweeping all the chips toward himself.

Qin Dayong had lost again, and his face twisted with frustration. "I was finally about to get lucky, and you ruined it with your bad vibes! Get lost! Now!"

Tears welled up in Qin Xi's eyes as she bit her lip, staring at Qin Dayong.

The other gamblers had been too focused on the game to notice her earlier, but now that the round was over, their eyes lit up with lecherous interest.

"Old Qin, looks like you're about to lose everything again. How about lending me your daughter for a few days? I'll give you a million," the nouveau riche said with a smirk, his gaze lingering on Qin Xi.

"Shut the hell up!" Qin Dayong exploded, leaping to his feet. "Anyone who dares lay a finger on my daughter will have to kill me first!"

Yang Chen, who had been displeased with Qin Dayong earlier, felt a flicker of approval at this reaction. However, this might complicate his plan.

Humiliated in front of everyone, the nouveau riche also stood up, his face darkening. "Qin Dayong, you looking to die?"

Just then, Yang Chen stepped up behind the man, grabbed him by the neck, and shoved him aside.

"Go play somewhere else!" Yang Chen deliberately deepened his voice.

The nouveau riche was about to curse when he noticed Yang Chen's mask. He swallowed his words.

In this place, anyone wearing a mask was likely a big shot. As a mere nouveau riche, he didn't dare take the risk.
