Melisa kept looking at her watch frequently while completing today's tasks unconsciously.
Time always liked to play tricks—slowing down when you wanted it to pass rapidly and slipping away when you needed more.
She kept making tiny errors too although not thauch but more than usual like—writing the wrong date, putting a file in the wrong stack. Her fingers worked, but her mind kept thinking of Jenny's note over and over again.
"What does she want to say after all this"
"Does she want to apologise or explain herself "
"Or maybe a trap set up by her and lily?"
Every time she looked toward Jenny's desk, she found her pretending to type, eyes darting nervously.
Was it real guilt, or just fear of consequences?
Finally, it was time for lunch break.She let out a long breath , preparing herself.
Then she left for the Star Cafe, the one she and Jenny frequently visited for small gossips or conversations.
Hearing footsteps, she looked back halfway—Jenny was following her nervously.
