Ye Yining stood at her door, hesitated for a moment, deliberately curving a faint smile at the corner of her lips before unlocking the door with her key.
The room, without the lights on, was dark and even had a gloomy feel to it.
By the moonlight, Ye Yining saw pieces of white cloth on the floor. She paused, then her gaze fell on a spot not far away.
At the point where light and shadow meet, the man in the wheelchair has a gloomy look in his eyes.
Look at her.
He held the snow-white wedding dress in his left hand, but a pair of scissors in his right.
Ye Yining belatedly realized that the white scraps of fabric she had seen when she entered the room were actually her wedding dress.
"I'm back." She pretended nothing had happened and walked straight to the man, squatting down beside him.
"What right do you have to wear a wedding dress?"
With a cruel remark, the man's scissors fell to the ground along with the sound of the mangled wedding dress hitting the floor.
Ye Yining's breath hitched, and she remained silent for a long time.

Lin Shengxia was startled, and then looked at Gu Zekai!
But then she saw his arm go over her shoulder and slam the door shut from the inside, though he deliberately slowed down his movements.
Lin Shengxia could see clearly that the reason he had restrained his violent temper was entirely because of the woman lying on the bed.
Afterwards, Gu Zekai walked straight to the bedside without even looking at her. Perhaps because of their arrival, the sound of cooking came from downstairs not long after, and a fragrant aroma filled the air.

Gu Zekai wrung out a towel from the basin beside him and gently wiped the woman's arm. Just as Lin Shengxia had expected, the part of her arm where she rolled up her sleeve also had burn scars.
"I also brought people from the Lin family." The moment he said this, Lin Shengxia could clearly feel that his eyes were filled with gloom.
His response, of course, was silence.
Gu Zekai seemed to be used to this silence, quietly continuing his wiping motion.
