Micah shifted slightly in the passenger seat, trying to adjust his posture without making it obvious. It didn't help. The inside of his thigh burned faintly, a dull soreness spreading every time he moved. When he had kicked Leo earlier, his leg had stretched farther than it should have, pulling against muscles that were already sore. And now the consequence of that heroic moment of rage was slowly making itself known.
Micah clenched his jaw. Great. Just great.
He subtly shifted again, attempting to find a position that didn't make his inner thigh sting. Unfortunately, every position seemed equally terrible.
The silence inside the car didn't help either. It was heavy. Awkward. Micah hated silence like this. So he reached forward and turned on the stereo.
Music filled the car a moment later. Some random song started playing, its soft rhythm filling the quiet space between them.
