After his parents left, Micah exhaled, running a hand through his hair. His chest felt tight, a mixture of guilt and exhaustion twisting inside of him. He turned toward Albert Ramsy. "Grandpa, tell me honestly… why did you bring Mum here?"
Albert Ramsy shifted his gaze from his cane to his grandson's face. "Your father asked me to," he said, voice calm. "You and your mother...you two have always been the closest among us. But lately…it's been easy to see how this," he gestured vaguely, as if the whole switch at birth ordeal was too absurd to name, "has put distance between you. Your father was worried about how your mother bottled up everything inside, and all of this had begun to take a toll on her health. We thought a bit of confrontation might help you two stubborn people finally talk, especially your mother."
