Blankly staring at the sterile white walls of the lecture hall which offered no comfort, Jihoon's gaze looked vacant, concealing the storm of thoughts behind his eyes.
A full day had passed, yet his mind still circled around his last conversation with Ryul, as if caught in a slow spin he couldn't break out of.
The older man's words had left him in a complicated state, one Jihoon hadn't quite managed to shrug off. It was tangled, indistinct.
So caught in thought, he didn't register Jaewook calling his name repeatedly for the last thirty seconds. It was only when a sudden jab to his ribs startled him, that he turned quickly toward the source.
"Ya, why are you being so lost lately?" Yerim leaned closer, her brows drawn in concern. She tilted her head and pointed behind her. "This guy's been waiting for you to answer."
Jihoon blinked out of his daze and looked up, just in time to see Jaewook walking over, a light grin already in place as he plopped into the empty seat next to him.
