Chapter 223 - Chapter 223: Daenerys's White Dragon Form

Daenerys Targaryen soared through the skies aboard the flying fleet, guided by the formidable Golden Lion Shiki. As she directed the Hell Pirates' armada and effortlessly subdued rebel generals, the captain of the Westerosi royal guards beside her could only stare blankly into the distance, questioning his entire existence.

"Have I… really just been living like a mutt all these years?"

He had seen things today that defied common sense—no, reality itself.

A baboon, invulnerable to blades and bullets, tearing soldiers apart barehanded...

Another wielding darts like throwing knives—each one, somehow, shaped like a baby...

One flew through the sky using Moonwalk, kicking with storm-charged legs that sliced the very air...

And then there was the one with dual swords, puffing a cigar like a pirate king, imitating Golden Lion Shiki himself and releasing golden sword waves with every swing...

These were no ordinary beasts. They were the infamous "Human Imitators," a troop of battle-trained baboons who mimicked human fighting styles to a terrifying degree. Their leader, dubbed the "King of the Copycats" by Brook himself, wielded Lion-Style Swordsmanship with such mastery that even elite swordsmen dared not approach carelessly.

In a cruel twist of irony, the royal guards of Westeros—once the pride of the kingdom—were now weaker than a bunch of baboons.

"For Captain Brook! Go!!"

With a mighty roar, Abefu, one of the Four Fallen Angels of the Hell Pirates, led the charge. His blazing black wings spread wide as he cleaved through rebel ranks with a flaming greatsword. Behind him, Lunarian warriors like Alice, Aroan, and Jennie commanded their Chiropteran Air Squadrons. Their brutal fighting style left only carnage in their wake—where they flew, death followed.

And on the ground, a beast of a man rampaged like a living tank—Kaido. Swinging a golden alloy mace that could pulverize stone and steel alike, he smashed through enemy lines with reckless abandon. Watching him was like watching a natural disaster unfold in slow motion.

The sight of the Hell Pirates' full might sent terror rippling through the battlefield. Many rebel soldiers fled at first glance. Who wouldn't? The Hell Pirates' reputation was legendary—and the Kingdom of Westeros, after all, was once their territory. Anyone foolish enough to rebel was now paying the price: a swift and brutal death.

The young and naive soldiers were the first to fall. The veterans knew better. They threw down their weapons and bolted before their fate was sealed.

Victory was inevitable.

Even the elite Vinsmoke siblings of Germa 66 had pacified the Broccoli Kingdom in four hours. In contrast, Golden Lion Shiki's flying fleet conquered Westeros in under two.

Their advance was unstoppable. Kingdoms surrendered upon hearing the wind of their approach.

Only Northern General Stark dared to resist near Desperate Winter Island. He paid the price—Shiki personally annihilated him in a frontal clash. The rest of the rebel generals surrendered or groveled for mercy.

General Lannister of Casterly Rock famously pre-packed all his possessions and neatly lined them on the city wall, awaiting collection by the fleet. His surrender was so efficient that Shiki even let the Lannisters live, reinstating them as regional governors.

Others weren't so lucky.

Highgarden's General Tyrell offered his daughter as a gift. That bought him clemency. Those who tried to haggle or deceive had their assets seized, their families exterminated, and their names erased from history.

"This is pointless," Golden Lion Shiki grumbled, cigar clenched between his teeth. "Sending the full force of the Hell Pirates to crush a petty rebellion... It's like swatting a mosquito with a warship."

Still, he admired Daenerys Targaryen's guts.

She had willingly offered up a Mythical Zoan—Frost Dragon Fruit—to curry favor with Brook. That kind of sacrifice took courage. Most would've consumed the fruit themselves, gone into hiding, and re-emerged decades later with dreams of conquest.

But not her.

Daenerys played her cards right. She didn't just earn Brook's favor—she secured her throne, defeated the rebellion in a single day, and stood tall as the rightful ruler of Westeros.

And now, she had something no other queen possessed—Brook himself placing a crown on her head. A living symbol of authority and protection. As far as the rest of the world was concerned, she was untouchable.

If she managed to build a deeper relationship with Brook—well, then she'd be free to walk across any territory of the Hell Pirates without fear.

After defeating the Night King Barrow, Brook had intended to return to his stronghold. But he delayed his departure to officially crown Daenerys as queen.

He also instructed Shiki to excavate the dragon tomb. The ancient dragon corpse inside had already been promised to the next user of the Shadow-Shadow Fruit.

The Roger Pirates—still scheming in another sea—never saw it coming. They had hidden the eggs in a sealed cavern, hoping no one would find them. Shiki crushed their entire operation with a single floating island maneuver.

With the rebellion crushed, Westeros quickly stabilized. The surviving generals were reorganized under Daenerys, giving her a solid military foundation.

Before the people of Westeros, Brook placed the crown upon her head, declaring her queen and legitimizing her reign for all to see.

To celebrate, Daenerys hosted a grand banquet. Not only to honor Brook, but also to extend her political reach and, hopefully, entice the captain into sticking around a bit longer. Perhaps something romantic might bloom between them...

A stroll to the farm to milk cows… grinding soybeans together at the local mill… munching on roujiamo at a food stall…

Yes, those were the moments she dreamed of.

Even Margaery—the famed Little Rose—was pulled into these "commoner experiences." Daenerys wanted her and other nobles to understand the hardships of the people. Plus, it was a subtle way to keep them close to Brook and potentially create unforgettable memories.

When the Hell Pirates finally took off into the skies, Daenerys stood on the palace balcony, watching them vanish into the clouds. She sighed.

Now, she was the undisputed Queen of Westeros.

But she feared being forgotten. That's why she sent Margaery along with Brook—to leave behind a romantic story, a lingering memory.

With Brook as her backing, she now held sway over the northern border. If the "seed" in her body ever took root… she might even one day set foot on Sky Island Ballon as a queen among queens.

Brook also gifted her a squad of evolved beasts from Beast Island—each one comparable in power to a Marine commodore. With them, Daenerys could maintain order long after the pirates departed.

"Hmph! Everyone mocks me for not using the Ice Dragon Fruit myself. But what do they know? That I, the Queen of Westeros, already possess a unique ability...!"

Her violet eyes turned draconic—narrow, vertical pupils gleaming. White dragon scales crept across her hands.

"Father… ancestors of House Targaryen… You were fools. You held the treasure in your grasp and never used it. But I will! Destiny is mine to seize! I will follow Lord Brook and climb to the very summit of this world!"

"ROOAAAR—!!"

A magnificent white western dragon erupted within the palace, its broad feathered wings stretching out as its horns gleamed under the sun. Even the ferocious beasts gifted by Brook bowed before her, recognizing the power of a true ruler.

---------------

Aboard the golden warship of the airborne fleet, Brook reclined casually, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as he reminisced about the past few days.

"That Daenerys Targaryen... acted meek at first, but under the guidance of my disciplinary stick, she sang like a bird," he chuckled to himself.

"To think that on such a tiny island like Dragonstone, the Dragonblood family was hiding not one—but two—Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits… There's no way that's just coincidence. The real secret lies within the Dragon Tomb."

His eyes gleamed with curiosity and anticipation. Brook was already itching to unravel the mysteries hidden beneath that ancient, crumbling place.

Daenerys Targaryen's story read like one of those fate-entwined scripts. Despite being a princess, her position within the Targaryen bloodline was meager. The family's preference for sons over daughters left her politically sidelined.

But then came the downfall of her kingdom. Amid the chaos, she hid in a sealed chamber beneath the royal palace. In a twist of fate—or perhaps destiny—her blood activated a long-forgotten mechanism, unlocking a hidden vault.

Inside, she found what her ancestors had sealed away: two Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits.

She didn't know if her father had ever been there, but none of it mattered now. Everything in that chamber was hers. She ate the fruit that resonated with her spirit and awakened the power of the White Feather Dragon.

She lurked within the ruins of the palace, biding her time. It was only when Roger's pirate crew passed through Dragonstone and scared off the tyrant Barrow, the self-proclaimed Night King, that she seized the opportunity to flee. There, in the shadows, she reunited with the last surviving royal guards.

That was the beginning of her journey to Doragonzo Island.

Daenerys had deliberately played the part of a tragic, vulnerable monarch. She even offered up rare treasures to draw Brook's attention. But after she became queen, she realized Brook had long known she wasn't as helpless as she pretended to be.

Brook had told her plainly: "I like women who are strong—and have ideals worth fighting for."

So, Daenerys took the risk and confronted him with her true self.

To her surprise, Brook accepted her. Claimed her.

Once she finished stabilizing the Westeros Kingdom, her next goal was clear—develop Doragonzo Island. And if things went well, she'd head straight for Ballon Island and enjoy the highest seat of power.

Brook welcomed it. "I need more capable allies," he'd said. "Stussy's already overworked managing our territories."

That gave Daenerys her opening—her shot to rise within the Hell Pirates' inner circle.

She wasn't just beautiful and intelligent—she now had the power of a Mythical Zoan fruit and the will to grow. Brook saw massive potential in her.

He was betting she'd become a formidable woman in time.

Their connection wasn't just emotional. There was strategy, ambition, mutual elevation. And as for feelings—well, those could be cultivated. This young dragon queen lacked experience, and a relationship blending power and interest was hardly a problem. In this world, such dynamics were the norm.

---

"Burururu~"

Brook's Den Den Mushi rang, breaking his thoughts.

Without hesitation, he answered.

"Lord Brook! The island-swallowing Lantern Fish has appeared again! We're 233 nautical miles northwest of Dream Island—Elkeme!" came the excited voice of Dan, the younger brother of legendary shipwright Fishman Tom.

Dan, now captain of the Fishman Island Search Team, had earned Brook's trust—and annual funding.

Brook's eyes lit up. "Excellent. Get ready to hit it with Vegapunk's signal flare gun!"

His heartbeat quickened. After years of searching, they finally had a lead.

Even if they couldn't capture the Lantern Fish this time, planting a high-tech signal javelin would allow them to track it going forward. No more relying on sheer luck and armies of fishmen to randomly stumble upon it in the ocean.

"Mission priority: tag that beast. Make it happen."

"Aye, sir!" Dan ended the call and barked out orders. The crew retrieved their only two javelins—top-grade prototypes, each worth a fortune.

The Island-Swallowing Lantern Fish was larger than even the ancient Sea Kings. It had several small islands within its stomach—and it had lived for centuries.

Alchemi Island had been swallowed over 200 years ago. The creature hadn't digested it. It hadn't expelled it. And somehow, life still thrived inside.

A walking paradox of biology.

"Shiki, change course! Over 200 nautical miles northwest of Alchemi! Kirin Lion, full speed!" Brook barked as he stormed out of his cabin, golden coat billowing behind him.

"Roger that!!" replied the Golden Lion himself.

The rest of the fleet quickly adjusted, veering toward the coordinates at top speed.

"Brother Brook, what's going on?" someone asked, seeing the usually composed captain so animated.

"The Lantern Fish—the one that devoured Alchemi Island—it's back!" Brook's gaze burned with intensity.

Pure Gold—that was the real prize.

A substance of legend that could make men immortal in all but name.

Its radiant glow could slow the passage of time in human cells. Wearing even a ring of it could extend your life by hundreds of years. Two centuries in one day.

Olga Mischina, a little girl once stricken by an incurable disease, had her time frozen by Pure Gold. Her parents poured every resource into forging it—and succeeded.

At six years old, she stopped aging. Even the deadly Virus was suspended in time inside her body.

But the glow of Pure Gold lured disaster.

It attracted the Lantern Fish, which swallowed half of Alchemi Island whole.

Olga, her mother, and father—along with countless other islanders—were trapped inside the beast.

Many perished. Olga's mother didn't make it. Over a hundred years passed inside that living tomb. Eventually, only Olga and her father, Mischina Asie, remained—surviving by ingenuity and sheer will.

"Tun Lantern Fish, Alchemi Island… So Pure Gold really exists?" muttered Redfield quietly.

Now serving as the Hell Pirates' chief steward, Redfield often visited the Tree of Knowledge to expand his encyclopedic mind.

"Yohoho~ It does," Brook confirmed. "The question is—can we seize it before the world does?"

He laughed, but his tone held a razor edge.

Brook wasn't just interested in the Pure Gold ring Olga wore. He was eyeing the glowing bulb atop the Lantern Fish's head—he suspected it too was made of Pure Gold.

After all, the light from that lantern could pass through the beast's massive body, illuminating the islands inside its gut and sustaining life within.

If that wasn't Pure Gold, what else could it be?
