~{INGRID'S POV}~
*
When I stood up and distanced myself from him, he got up as well as his eyes held mine.
A part of me wanted to remain with me but the other stronger part didn't want that and it frustrated me.
"I'm sorry," I apologized and turned away as I ran off.
This time he didn't stop me like I thought he would.
I ran as fast as I could and took the flight of stairs with my heart racing fast.
I didn't want him to change his mind and stop me again and I didn't want any damage to be done.
When I got to the entrance, I found Pascal there and he looked at me in confusion.
"Lady Ingrid, it's not safe to go…"
"Don't worry. He's my mate."
"Mate?" He blurted in disbelief and I could see the horror in his eyes.
"But…"
"It's alright." I cut him short but he still didn't look convinced.
"Where is the Lord?"
"Upstairs."
"Upstairs? Then why aren't you with him? Don't tell me yo…" he left the last line incomplete as realization finally dawned on him.
