Our lovely little witch, Wanda, and quake-powered agent Daisy Johnson were currently piloting a shuttle, departing from S.W.O.R.D.'s mothership. Their mission this time: investigate a site on the outskirts of New York City. According to energy fluctuations detected by S.W.O.R.D.'s orbital satellites, the area had experienced unusual activity—likely an A-level paranormal event.

A previous scouting party had already been sent to investigate. Their report described a terrifying creature, and their high-tech scanning gear had been short-circuited by a burst of intense energy. Whatever was down there, it wasn't natural—so now, both Wanda and Daisy were dispatched.

"We'll arrive in a few minutes," Wanda said casually, glancing at Daisy—and noticed the girl fidgeting with her fingers.

"Oh, just… a bit nervous," Daisy admitted, scratching her head sheepishly. "You know how my powers are—sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I mean, I've gotten a lot better since... that thing, and I can control them much more easily now, but this is the first time I've done a field op since then. I just don't wanna screw it up."

Wanda gave her a warm smile, instantly understanding.

"Don't worry, Daisy. We're a team. Whatever we face, we face it together."

"Yeah... a team." Daisy repeated the word like it meant something precious.

When she first joined S.H.I.E.L.D., she thought she was joining a team. But truthfully, aside from Director Nick Fury and Agent Coulson, few in S.H.I.E.L.D. truly trusted her.

Things changed when she joined S.W.O.R.D. There, no one cared about your past. She met people like Pietro and Wanda, both formerly tied to HYDRA. She met street-level heroes like Spider-Man, and even saw Eddie Brock, the unlucky reporter who'd bonded with an alien and somehow turned it into a weapon.

These weren't your typical, flawless heroes. They had baggage, quirks, flaws. But in S.W.O.R.D., they had each other's backs. That's what mattered.

And then there was Gene—the one who had reunited Daisy with her long-lost mother, Jiaying, finally freeing her from the emotional shackles holding her back. With her inner turmoil resolved, she had mastered control over her seismic powers.

That was why she followed S.W.O.R.D. so loyally. Why she believed in them.

"Yeah," she whispered, eyes glowing with confidence. "S.W.O.R.D. is my family."

As they neared their destination, the shuttle disengaged its optical cloaking and appeared above a dense forest several hundred kilometers outside of New York. With a gentle hum, the ship landed, its thrusters blasting dust and bending nearby trees.

"Cough, cough—ugh." Daisy hacked through the cloud of dust, then grumbled, "Why doesn't the boss upgrade this thing with a dust shield or something? Every landing's like eating sand!"

Wanda, of course, was surrounded by a shimmering field of crimson chaos magic, keeping the dust at bay.

"Wanda! That's cheating!" Daisy shouted, half-jealous.

Wanda simply smiled.

"You could try using your powers too, Daisy."

Daisy blinked, then smacked her forehead in realization.

"Right. Ugh—I keep forgetting I can do that now."

But just as their banter peaked, Wanda suddenly raised her hand. Instantly, the lightness vanished. The two agents switched to full combat readiness, scanning the area with sharp eyes.

The forest was ravaged.

Shattered trees. Craters in the rock. Giant footprints carved into the earth.

"What the hell made that?" Daisy muttered, stunned by the sheer size of the prints.

Wanda knelt by one and hovered her hand over it. Crimson mist seeped out from her fingers as she summoned her magic to sense the lingering energy.

"It was a person, Daisy," Wanda said, eyes closed. "Very tall—around three meters. I also feel something familiar… almost like Hulk's energy."

She paused, then raised her voice.

"Ultron, search the database. Match the energy signature to anyone on file."

The shuttle's A.I. responded instantly.

"Match found: U.S. military officer Colonel Emil Blonsky. Codename: Abomination. Subject underwent Hulk blood serum experimentation. Transformed into gamma-powered creature. Previously held in Isolation Island Prison. Escaped three days ago under unknown circumstances."

"Great. So it is a Hulk knockoff." Daisy sighed. "Well… can't be that hard to beat, right?"

The two pressed onward, Wanda's magic guiding them along a hidden path, through winding mountain roads, until they reached a strange sight:

A metal door, gleaming silver, half-buried in the hillside.

The entrance was well-hidden—perfectly concealed in the landscape.

The two agents exchanged a glance.

"So…" Daisy raised a brow. "What the hell is this?"

Then she added with a smirk,

"And we're both thinking it—normal people don't build secret bases in the middle of nowhere. Only villains do that."
