Due to the unique nature of his abilities, Asura failed to notice the peculiarities of the Demon Heaven race. In less than a day, he had already quelled the chaos on this planet.
As for the spontaneous faith of the planet's native inhabitants, Asura paid it no mind—the amount of faith energy they generated was negligible and unworthy of his attention.
Asura began the process of transforming his chosen followers.
Probing their souls and analyzing their essence, Asura furrowed his brow.
"Their consciousness is utterly chaotic, and they possess two completely distinct sets of memories. Though both are clear, this clarity has driven these Demon Heaven beings into a state of instinctual, frenzied slaughter."
"This won't do. As my followers, you may be warlike and bloodthirsty, but you cannot act without restraint. It seems I'll need to invest more effort into reshaping your cognition."
Without delay, Asura got to work. However, he failed to realize that while he was modifying their souls, he was also triggering the civilization-wide alarm of the Demon Heaven race.
Soon, god-level Demon Heaven beings descended upon the planet.
Though the strongest among them were only equivalent to Tier-3 gods, Asura frowned.
"You are similar in nature, but your self-awareness appears far clearer. You are not like these mindless beasts who act recklessly."
Before Asura stood a Tier-3 god Demon Heaven being with a snake-like head. He eyed Asura warily and communicated telepathically:
"How dare you imprison members of our Serpent clan? You have some nerve.
By the order of the Jörmungandr Ancestral Demon Lord, if you surrender now, we might consider allowing you to join our clan as one of us."
Asura dismissed him with disdain.
"Don't get cocky, you lowly god."
As Asura spoke, an overwhelming God King-level pressure instantly crushed the group of god-level Demon Heaven beings surrounding him.
Asura planted his foot firmly on the snake-headed Demon Heaven being's head, staring at him with a domineering and sinister gaze.
"Do you understand your situation now, trash?"
Under this terrifying pressure, the Demon Heaven being suddenly realized something and exclaimed in shock:
"You're a Honored One-level expert!? No… your strength and presence even rival that of our clan's Ancestral Demon Lord! Who are you? Why are you invading a planet occupied by our Demon Heaven Civilization?"
Asura raised an eyebrow. From the other's words, he could tell that these beings he intended to make his followers were not mere indigenous gods ruling over a few small planets—they were backed by formidable power.
Though Asura knew his strength was nearly at the upper limit of this universe, he dared not recklessly make enemies, fearing an ambush by a group of God King-level experts.
But abandoning these potential subordinates for his new God Realm left a bitter taste in Asura's mouth.
Though Asura didn't know the concept of "know yourself and know your enemy, and you will win a hundred battles," he desired detailed information about this so-called Demon Heaven Civilization.
Slowly raising his right hand, Asura prepared to extract the Demon Heaven being's soul.
However, the moment Asura touched the core of the being's soul, he froze!
The first thing that appeared before Asura was a colossal serpentine Demon Heaven entity. Though it still lacked facial features, Asura sensed its awareness of his presence, staring directly at him from billions of light-years away.
Though the entity was powerful, Asura was confident he could slay it.
But that wasn't why Asura felt shaken.
Behind the Jörmungandr Ancestral Demon Lord loomed a pitch-black sun-like eye, locking onto Asura with unyielding focus.
Though it said nothing, its intent was clear:
"Capture him!"
Instantly, Asura's spine tingled. He crushed the Demon Heaven being in his grasp, then transformed into a streak of light, vanishing into the cosmos.
The cultivation systems across the universe were varied and strange, but once one reached the god-level, they undoubtedly cultivated exclusive laws.
Though Asura hadn't seen the true form of the black sun, his instincts as the former slayer of the Dragon God alerted him to the fact that the law powers emanating from it rivaled those of the Dragon God.
"Run! I must run! If I'm caught by this guy, I'm dead!"
Asura fled in panic.
Though Asura had once cleaved the Dragon God in two with his Asura Demon Sword, that victory had been due to the Dragon God holding back. Had the Dragon God truly targeted him, Asura—barely stepping into the high-tier God King realm back then—would have been obliterated in a single strike.
But Asura's escape was far from smooth. Almost every time he stopped to rest and recover his divine energy, he faced waves of Demon Heaven beings descending upon him.
At first, they were all low-tier fodder, but gradually, Ancestral Demon Lords began to appear!
From their initial clash, Asura recognized the other's strength—a top-tier God King-level expert, no less formidable than himself.
Relying on his overwhelming power, Asura managed to drive the opponent back during their first encounter.
Though Asura could have spent more time and effort to slay the foe, his combat instincts screamed at him not to linger in battle. If he became entangled, he would be overwhelmed and beaten to death.
After all, the Ancestral Demon Lord sent to subdue him wasn't the Jörmungandr Ancestral Demon Lord—it was someone else.
This meant the Demon Heaven Civilization possessed multiple such powerful beings.
Asura grew increasingly wary of the Demon Heaven Civilization and dared not stop, fleeing aimlessly through the cosmos. But each time, the enemy somehow pinpointed his location.
Gradually, Asura realized he had likely fallen into their trap, bearing a tracking mark on his person.
Thus, while fleeing, Asura attempted to resolve the issue of the tracking mark.
But from the very beginning, he had no chance of prevailing on their turf. Slowly, Asura was surrounded by several Ancestral Demon Lords.
Despair gripped Asura. It seemed there was no hope of preserving his God King body.
Yet, as a top-tier expert, Asura retained his pride. He resolved to unleash his ultimate technique, the Asura Blood Sword, to perish alongside his foes.
But ultimately, Asura miscalculated.
The Demon Heaven Civilization never intended to kill him—they wanted to capture him alive.
Unbeknownst to Asura, countless threads imperceptible even to him had long spread throughout the cosmos, binding him tightly in the void.
At this moment, the hidden Ancestral Demon Lord revealed her form. Her lower body remained shrouded in mist, while her upper body took the form of an alluring woman. Her head, however, was far more grotesque than that of an ordinary Ancestral Demon Lord—a spider-like cranium with eight eyes.
"You've done well, Rose. I'm sure the Holy Ancestor of the Demon Heaven Civilization will reward you handsomely for this."
These were the last words Asura heard before losing consciousness.
When Asura awoke again, the former Asura God King no longer existed.
All that remained was one of the ten Ancestral Demon Lords of the Demon Heaven Civilization—the Ancestral Demon Lord Asura.
