For a few seconds, there was no response. The representatives simply stared at her. Then the man sitting directly across from her perhaps the one with the most authority in the room, shifted his weight slightly, folding his arms across his chest.
"Well then," he said, his lips curling into a slight, unreadable smile. "What exactly do you want to say, Miss Abigail? What's your idea?"
At that moment, the atmosphere shifted slightly. It wasn't hostile but it was certainly charged with energy.
Abigail didn't flinch. She didn't look away. She simply said the truth, clean and without decoration.
"I don't have the kind of money you're expecting me to pay to buy the share you want to sell."
