Abigail entered the boardroom dressed in black, her hair tied in a sharp bun. The directors rose to greet her, their expressions tense but respectful.
She nodded at them and took her seat at the head of the table.
"As you've seen, the media has turned their attention toward us. I will not allow this company to be dragged through the mud," she said, her voice crisp.
One of the board members, an older man named Harrington, raised a hand. "We've received anonymous inquiries. Someone is accusing your late father of financial mismanagement."
Abigail's spine straightened. "They're trying to twist a legacy into a weapon."
The room went silent.
Then she looked up. "We'll cooperate with any legal audit they want. I have nothing to hide. And if anyone in this room does, now is your time to step out."
