Just as Xu Ke was plunged into deep self-doubt, Alice's attention had already been caught by a toy shop. She stood by the roadside staring at the dolls inside the shop window, without blinking, until the distracted Xu Ke bumped into her, snapping her back to reality.
"If you like it, let's go in and take a look." Xu Ke looked at her eyes, filled with longing as she gazed at the dolls, and spoke.
"Can we? Won't it delay your plans?"
"What plans do I have? I'm just out for a stroll today, it doesn't matter where we go. If you want to take a look inside, we can go in." Xu Ke said.
Alice, who had been somewhat hesitant, finally stopped wavering upon hearing Xu Ke's words. She grabbed Xu Ke's hand and rushed into the shop.
Perhaps because it was a toy store, all three shop assistants were wearing plush costumes, their faces painted with exaggerated makeup, making them look as if the dolls had come to life.
