Your handsome author is back again, 3rd chapter today. Man have I out done myself. Well if you have anything to say just give comments and I will read through.

Smoke hung thick in the air, clinging to our skin like the stench of something old and angry. The gates of Mir'Dahn towered before us—twin slabs of iron veined with red crystal, pulsing like a heartbeat.
"No pressure," I muttered, stepping closer. "Just a fortress that probably wants to kill us."
{Main Quest: Knock, Knock. Objective: Enter fortress. Optional: Survive.}
Candy wiped blood off her cheek, her ice dagger still glowing faintly. "So… how do we open it? Politely? With a magic word?"
Elira touched the gate, her hand glowing slightly. "It's alive."
"No kidding," I said.
Trihexa stood still beside me, her breath shallow, her body tense. Her kitsune form had receded, but her eyes still burned.
I glanced at her. "You sure you're up for this?"
"I need to be," she replied. "This my story after all." she added with a smirk.
Suddenly, the ground shook. Runes lit up across the gates—blood red, swirling in demonic script.
Then a voice boomed from within: "Hero… and his strays. You dare bring hope to my doorstep?"
{Mini-Boss Alert! Identity: Unknown. Mood: Smug and ready to monologue.}
I raised Excalibur. "Strays, huh? Let's make him eat those words."
The gates creaked open with an eerie groan, revealing a vast, dark corridor lit by fire sconces with violet flame. The air inside was colder than it should've been, and thicker—as if it were resisting our presence.
We stepped in.
Each step echoed. The walls were covered in murals—grotesque battles, rituals, and sacrifices. Demons etched in obsidian danced alongside humans with hollow eyes.
"This place was built for suffering," Elira whispered.
Candy walked slower now. Her grip tightened around her pendant. "We need to be ready for anything."
{Side Note: 'Anything' includes spike traps, shadow leeches, and the occasional existential crisis.}
Suddenly, the corridor exploded with movement.
From the ceiling and walls, demonic creatures dropped—half-spider, half-man hybrids with claws dripping in venom. They clicked their fangs and charged.
"Here they come." I shouted.
Elira spun into motion, her blade gleaming with light. She sliced one mid-air, landing with grace. Trihexa released a burst of silver fire from her tails, incinerating three more.
Candy slammed her palms down. "Frost Surge!"
Spikes of ice erupted, pinning two creatures to the ceiling. I ducked under a claw swipe and slashed upward with Excalibur. The sword sang through the air, cleaving the beast in half.
They kept coming. Dozens of them.
We formed a circle, backs to each other.
"They're endless!" Candy yelled.
"They're stalling us," Trihexa growled. "We're not meant to reach the core."
{Combat Tip: Endless waves mean you're missing the spawn source. Seek and destroy.}
I scanned the corridor. A demonic rune pulsed in the far corner.
"There!"
I rushed forward, slicing through two more enemies. One leaped at my throat—I vanished with King Crimson and reappeared behind ten, while they burst in sprays of blood.
I reached the rune. "Excalibur, purify!"
Light burst outward, shattering the rune. The creatures screeched, collapsing into ash.
{Wave Complete. Exp Earned: 50,000. New Threat Level: Increasing.}
We barely had time to breathe.
Another door opened at the far end of the corridor. Purple mist seeped in.
"That's our next stop," I said.
We entered what looked like a cathedral. Rows of statues lined the sides—knights, angels, all broken. The stained-glass windows showed twisted parodies of holy figures bowing to a demonic throne.
A figure awaited us at the altar.
He wore priest-like robes, but his body was all wrong—spindly, too tall, arms bending backwards.
"Welcome," he rasped. "To my sanctum. I am Cleros, the Tongue of the King."
Trihexa froze. "You…"
"Oh yes. You remember. I'm the one who set your forest ablaze. Who twisted your kin into those delightful shadows."
Her body trembled. Nine tails flared.
"Cleros!" she roared.
{Boss Fight: Cleros – Tongue of the Demon King. Difficulty: Insanely unfair. Enjoy!}
Trihexa leaped before I could react, claws out, her aura surging. They clashed mid-air—her fury against his dark magic. Blades of shadow and silver light collided.
He smiled. "Still weak. Just like your clan."
I charged to join but Cleros snapped his fingers, erecting a wall of shadows.
Candy broke it with a frost nova.
We rushed in.
Elira dueled shadow clones that mimicked her movements. Candy threw up barriers and healing glyphs.
I reached Cleros, slashing with Excalibur.
He parried with a staff made of bone and retaliated with a shadow claw which scared my stomach causing a grunt to escape me. "Ah, the new hero. I preferred the last one—he screamed better."
"You'll scream louder."
Our weapons clashed. I ducked a strike, rolled behind, struck low. He floated just out of reach.
Trihexa tackled him from above. He grabbed her throat, slammed her into the floor, and blasted her with a pulse of dark fire.
She screamed—whined?
I snapped.
"wings of Heimdall!"
Wings burst from my back. I shot forward, grabbing Trihexa, shielding her with my body. My back burned.
She coughed. "Why?"
"Because you're not alone anymore."
We stood together.
Elira joined us, bleeding but ready.
"Candy cover us for a sec. Trihexa heal yourself fast, Elira get closer."
Candy focused all her mana. "Ice Lance Rain!"
Dozens of spears hailed down as Trihexa healed herself and I healed Elira before healing myself. And then looked up
I locked eyes with Cleros. "Cleros answer me this: Are you afraid to lose?"
He scoffed. "No."
'Hypnosis: Activated.'
His pupils shrank.
"Then kneel."
He did.
We all struck together.
Light. Ice. Blades. Claws.
His body grew crack like breaking glass then he exploded into shadows.
{Boss Defeated. Reward: 200,000 Exp. Item Gained: Whispering Sigil.}
{🕯️Whispering Sigil (Key Item) Key Item)
Type: Cursed Artifact
Origin: Cleros, Tongue of the Demon King
Description: A blackened bone disc inscribed with ever-shifting runes. When held, faint whispers echo in the mind—some in forgotten tongues, others in voices you recognize but know are long dead.
Lore:
Crafted from the remains of a fallen archbishop who once betrayed his kingdom to serve the Demon King, the Sigil was fused with his soul and imbued with forbidden knowledge. It acts as both a communication beacon and a decoder of infernal secrets.
Effects:
Whispers of the Damned: Grants the user passive resistance to mental attacks and corruption but risks psychological instability if overused.
Unlocks Hidden Paths: Can reveal or bypass certain demonic seals or hidden doors, especially within fortresses of demonic origin.
Language of the Abyss: Allows the user to read and understand demonic runes and forbidden scriptures (useful for deciphering murals or warding traps).
Echo Memory: Can replay the last words or memories of its former owner—used only once per day.
Drawbacks:
Mental Strain: Prolonged use may cause hallucinations or hearing voices. Marked by the Void: Using the sigil too often may alert higher demonic forces to your presence (especially mid-to-late game).}
We collapsed to our knees.
Trihexa touched her heart. "Dan… thank you. For helping me finish it."
She didn't say more. But her eyes said enough.
The cathedral shook.
And ahead—one final staircase rose.
The core of the fortress.
'Roll.'
[-Hiei's Dragon of the Darkness Flame: Summons a massive black dragon of hellfire that obliterates anything.
- Shinra's Light Speed Kick (Fire Force): Kicks fast enough to bend space-time and reach the "Adolla" world.]
'Each roll makes it better. I am starting to get addicted.'
