By this point, the Third Raikage had no choice. Helplessly, he and several dozen Cloud shinobi began assembling the massive telescope and the connected display screen right there on the spot.
Tobi looked at the several Chakra Converters used to power the instruments and couldn't help but sigh, "Kumogakure's technology really is advanced, you've even mastered how to use Chakra Converters so skillfully."
The Third Raikage didn't even want to exchange words with him now. He only said coldly, "We've brought the telescope, and I also brought several dozen technical operators. They can meet all your requirements."
"Whatever trick Akatsuki is trying to pull, just hurry up and do it!"
Tobi pointed toward a direction in the sky, "In that case, have your people aim the telescope toward that patch of sky beyond the Shinobi World. Display everything you see on the big screen, so that everyone present can watch clearly."
The Third Raikage, seeing this, ordered several subordinates to operate the equipment. After a flurry of activity, they successfully aligned the telescope with the spot Tobi had indicated.
The large screen lit up in sync, showing a vast image of the starry sky.
Then, everyone who looked at the screen with curiosity suddenly saw it. In that lonely, dark sky beyond the Shinobi World, where countless stars twinkled faintly, a huge oval-shaped sphere appeared, taking up more than half the screen.
It seemed… to be moving. Slowly, it was drifting toward the Shinobi World.
Even Orochimaru, who always maintained an unruffled expression, let out a low chuckle and murmured, "Interesting."
The Third Raikage turned to the few scientists he'd brought along, "What's going on? Explain this to me."
However, the most authoritative astronomers of the Land of Lightning were now pale as ghosts.
One of them was so terrified he fell straight onto the ground.
The lead astronomer stammered, "L-Lord Raikage… a meteorite, what we classify internally as an asteroid, is hurtling toward the Shinobi World at extreme speed, just like what's being shown on the screen."
Then he suddenly began laughing hysterically, "The Shinobi World is finished! Hahaha! The Shinobi World is finished!"
His sudden madness left most of the ninja confused, most of them had no education, and even those who knew a little about science couldn't understand what was happening.
Onoki said bluntly, "It's just a rock coming toward us, isn't it? It's so small and moving so slowly. My Dust Release could reduce it to nothing in an instant."
But the astronomer's expression grew even wilder.
"Small? Slow? Hahaha! Lord Tsuchikage, this image is through a telescope! Its actual size is at least one-tenth the size of the Shinobi World!"
"It's still far, very far away, yet even from that distance, we can clearly see its movement. Its speed per second must far exceed Lord Raikage's full sprint!"
"Think about it, Lord Tsuchikage, a meteorite with a volume and mass roughly one-tenth that of the planet itself, crashing toward us faster than the Raikage can move, do you really think the Shinobi World, or rather, our Earth, can possibly survive that?"
"The Shinobi World is finished! Hahahahaha!"
Now, everyone finally understood, and their faces all changed color.
The Third Raikage knew exactly what level his scientists were at, "Is this… true?" he demanded.
The lead astronomer suddenly calmed down, "Lord Raikage, it's true. I'd like to resign now. I want to spend my final hours with my family."
Hearing that, the Third Raikage's face turned grim.
He looked at Onoki, "I'm a taijutsu-type shinobi. I can't deal with something like this."
"Do you have any solution?"
Onoki's expression was just as bad, "A rock larger than the entire Land of Earth, moving faster than you can, coming straight at us? Even if every ninja in Iwagakure mastered my Earth Release: Light-Weight and Heavy-Weight Rock Technique, it'd be useless."
"According to your scientists' data, we're doomed!"
Panic spread among the assembled Kage. Even Namikaze Minato looked tense, turning toward Tobi, "Is this true?" he asked seriously.
Tobi, not wanting his teacher to worry too much, replied at once, "It's true, but don't worry. This is my gift for Yahiko and Konan."
Everyone turned to stare at him. The Third Raikage glared furiously, "Akatsuki, are you trying to destroy the Shinobi World!?"
Tobi answered calmly, "I only wanted to release a grand firework display, as the opening ceremony for this wedding."
"Since everyone's getting impatient… let's begin."
"Like this."
He raised his hand and snapped his fingers again.
Snap!
At that sound, the asteroid hurtling toward the planet suddenly exploded.
The massive detonation sent out a burst of dazzling blue light and glittering sparks, lighting up the entire starry expanse on the screen.
Before anyone could even recover from the brilliance of that spectacle. Someone, as if struck by an instinctive premonition, lifted their head and looked toward the pure blue-and-white sky above the Shinobi World.
Tobi also raised his head and murmured, "A grand firework display shouldn't be watched only on a screen."
As his words fell, more and more people sensed something and looked up as well.
Then they saw it, perhaps the most unforgettable sight of their lives.
Far away in the sky, a faint blue light blossomed, and in an instant, it spread outward.
The light surged across the heavens, illuminating the entire Shinobi World.
It came fast, and it faded just as quickly, leaving only a lingering afterglow that slowly dissipated.
Tobi said softly, "Some beautiful sights only last a moment. I hope everyone took a good look."
Namikaze Minato understood. All along, he'd been curious about how much his student had grown.
Now he knew.
Obito, had likely become a true god. Even if the legendary Sage of Six Paths were resurrected, could he do something like that?
More and more people began to understand too, what they had just witnessed could be called fireworks, or it could be called destruction.
Before anyone could recover, Tobi said, "The opening act is over. Now, let's turn the stage over to Akatsuki's leader, Yahiko, and our Angel."
With that, he turned and stepped off the stage.
Yahiko, however, suddenly felt awkward. He had known Tobi would make a grand gesture, but he hadn't imagined it would be this grand.
He could only walk up, trying his best to appear warm and approachable, smiling as he said to everyone, "Everyone, eat well, enjoy yourselves, and don't feel pressured. Akatsuki will always be a peaceful organization..."
"AS LONG AS NO ONE DISRUPTS THIS PEACE."
