Uchiha Shin's figure burst out of a rift in space and slowly descended onto the cold stone floor of the underground cell.
After perceiving the activation of the "Sealed Tsukuyomi," he locked onto the chakra frequency of the Uchiha clan compound. Realizing that Uchiha Hikaru had been sent into confinement, he immediately used Yomotsu Hirasaka, the Ōtsutsuki-derived space-time technique inherited through his mutated Sharingan-Rinnegan hybrid, and warped directly into the prison chamber.
"No… no…"
Curled up at the far end of the cell, Uchiha Hikaru whimpered in her sleep, shivering violently. Her voice was faint, childlike, but weighed down with despair.
Shin's brow furrowed.
Even without touching her, he could sense it. Through his perception of spiritual resonance—an ability tied to his ocular prowess—he witnessed the twisted horrors buried deep within her subconscious.
After awakening her Mangekyō Sharingan due to the trauma of her parents' death, Hikaru became a pawn of the Uchiha elders. Her once-normal life was shattered, replaced with systematic exploitation.
The elders saw her unique ocular ability—Eight Thousand Spears—as a divine tool. They weaponized her. They forced her to integrate the Mangekyō Sharingan of fallen clan members, one after another, surgically transplanting eyes, absorbing techniques through chakra binding and ocular infusion. A grotesque process that bypassed the need for physical replacement, thanks to her singular kekkei mōra ability.
Where others needed to transplant new eyes to gain new powers, she absorbed them, assimilated them—her [Eight Thousand Spears] adapting endlessly.
That power had a cost.
Under relentless pressure, Hikaru's chakra system and optic nerves were tortured to their limits. If not for her kekkei mōra constantly repairing and evolving her vision, she would have long since gone blind—reduced to a burnt-out tool discarded by the very people she tried to protect.
Recently, her ability had undergone yet another mutation—its form twisted from absorbing the corrupted Mangekyō chakra of Subject 010, an unnamed rogue Uchiha once housed in the Naka Shrine basement.
And then came the next step: under the coercion of the elders, she was forced to manifest the new genjutsu—Carved Tsukuyomi—a sadistic variant of the original Tsukuyomi. Rather than imprisoning someone in a brief illusion of torment, it carved pain into the soul, permanently etching trauma into the victim's consciousness.
"Uchiha Daigo… that bastard really does live up to the name 'born evil.'" Shin rubbed his temples in irritation. "Must've cracked his skull from killing too many people on the battlefield."
Despite being Uchiha himself, Shin couldn't suppress his disgust. The clan's obsession with power had long crossed the line into madness. In times of war, awakening the Sharingan pushed members toward emotional extremes. Those who succumbed to hatred often gained strength and, with it, political clout in the clan's hierarchy.
It created a grotesque meritocracy—one built on suffering.
"Insanity breeds strength, and strength grants authority. No wonder the Uchiha clan resembles an asylum run by the inmates," Shin muttered.
He knelt beside the unconscious girl, gently brushing a hand over her damp forehead and tucking a loose strand of jet-black hair behind her ear.
Despite her age, Hikaru had already achieved Kage-level power. With proper mastery over her Eight Thousand Spears, she could easily ascend to the ranks of the Super Kage.
And if she ever accessed the chakra of all those she'd absorbed ocular powers from—she would become something akin to a lesser Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. A low-budget Rabbit Goddess.
But her biggest weakness?
She was too kind.
Too kind, too naive, too soft-hearted. That's why the clan still had her locked up like a tool.
"I've got the same ability. I burn chakra and replenish my ocular power with Eight Thousand Spears on the fly. So of course I go on a killing spree with my Susanoo," Shin murmured with a grin. "But you… you're hiding in a dungeon, scared of ghosts."
He let out a heavy sigh, his expression one of pity and quiet anger.
Naturally, his appearance triggered the alarms of the barrier ninjutsu layered over the compound. Within moments, Uchiha Jiri—a junior elite guard stationed nearby—arrived at the cell.
"A man!?"
She stared in stunned disbelief.
The figure standing inside the cell was no ordinary intruder. Pale white hair, sharp features, and eyes glowing faintly with Rinnegan energy—Uchiha Shin radiated a calm, effortless power.
Jiri's gaze darted across the floor, confused. The seals were intact. There was no breach. No smoke, no chakra disturbance. No way in.
He was just... there.
Her instincts screamed danger.
But Shin simply turned toward her and scanned her silently. Her form-fitting standard Uchiha uniform hugged a voluptuous figure; her dark purple hair fell in waves down her back, and her eyes—though sharp—carried a softness he recognized.
"Mikoto's type. Quiet housewife vibe."
The words tumbled out of his mouth without filter.
Jiri flinched, heart pounding. She couldn't hear what he'd said, but she didn't like the way his eyes lingered.
Before she could demand answers, two more Uchiha guards—both Jonin-level—appeared behind her, drawn by the chakra anomaly.
One of them had a milky, scarred left eye. Shin noted it instantly. Izanagi. One-shot reality overwrite. Dangerous if paired with suicidal tactics.
The guards immediately assumed the worst.
"Intruder alert!" one shouted, pointing at Shin. "He's trying to extract or destroy our living weapon!"
Both Jonin flanked the prison door, bracing for combat.
Still, Shin stood quietly, unmoved.
"I wasn't planning to alter history," he muttered, "but you bastards make it really tempting."
He thought briefly of his former comrades—Gu Tora and Gu Kyo—members of a rogue ninja unit from the Southern Reaches. Compared to them, these Uchiha felt like pampered cultists.
Suddenly—
"Ugh..."
Hikaru stirred.
Her quiet moan silenced the room. She blinked slowly, vision blurred. The nightmare haze hadn't lifted fully.
She sat up groggily, back pressing against the stone wall, legs instinctively drawn close to her chest. Her eyes found Shin's form—and widened.
He looked so... different. Not like the cold elders or emotionless guards.
Young. Handsome. Wild white hair. Rinnegan eyes. He couldn't be more than a few years older than her.
"You're awake," Shin said gently. "This is our first meeting. I don't know your name, but mine's Uchiha Shin."
His voice was warm. Honest. Almost teasing.
Hikaru's confusion deepened.
Someone from the Uchiha clan was… smiling at her?
"Don't listen to him!" one of the guards barked. "Use your jutsu, Hikaru! He's an enemy!"
"Enemy?!" she echoed, dazed.
Her chakra still hadn't stabilized. The aftereffects of Carved Tsukuyomi were brutal—mind fragmentation, chakra leakage, and sensory dissonance.
The moment dragged.
And then—Shin reached out casually and ruffled her hair. Her long black locks spilled through his fingers like silk.
"Guess I am the intruder," he said with a smirk. "We'll chat later. Lemme handle these idiots first."
Before Hikaru could even protest, the guards had already launched their attack.
"Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni!"
A barrage of kunai shot forward—each one coated with searing flame, the petals of fire twirling like crimson sakura blossoms.
"Careful!!" Hikaru cried, alarm overriding her confusion.
But Shin didn't budge.
As the flaming kunai stormed toward him, five Truth-Seeking Orbs rotated into existence behind his back. The black spheres floated forward like lazy moons.
With a subtle gesture, one orb expanded into a shield. The kunai clinked against its surface and disintegrated. Fire dissipated harmlessly, unable to touch him.
"…That's not fair," one of the guards whispered, terror creeping into his voice.
Shin cracked his neck and flexed his fingers. His chakra coiled around him like a serpent preparing to strike.
He looked at them, deadpan. "You came in screaming about 'weapons,' and now you're surprised when the weapon bites back?"
