It must be stifling curled up in bed...
"I... was sleeping, what are you doing? How's the collaboration going, have you had dinner?"
Realizing I sounded a bit aggressive, I wished I could smack my own mouth.
Mo Han didn't seem to notice anything wrong and casually replied, "I've eaten. I'm in the hotel now, reviewing documents. Why are you sleeping so early today, are you feeling unwell?"
"No."
I can't possibly say I'm not used to being alone, right?
Yet, without me saying it, Mo Han did, "Could it be that you feel a bit empty being alone in the house, and you're not used to it?"
The corners of my mouth twitched involuntarily. Did he have to guess so accurately?
Very reluctant to admit it, I cleared my throat and said, "No, it's just that the power suddenly went out, and I felt a bit uneasy and wanted someone to talk to."
Unsure if he'd believe this off-the-cuff excuse.
"Power outage? Want me to call property management to check if there's an issue with the main switch?"
