Upon hearing Lily Turner's exclamation, Easton Holmes, who was on his way to the bathroom, instinctively stopped in his tracks, turning his body slightly to look at her as she sat on the sofa making a call.
He frowned, standing there watching her. After a moment, whatever was said on the other end of the line made her nod and respond with a light "Oh".
Lily seemed to sense Easton's gaze and turned her head to look in his direction. He hadn't expected her to suddenly look over, and his frown hadn't yet had time to soften.
"Why are you looking at me with that expression? As if I'm cheating on you behind your back." Lily's words were spoken casually, without any real meaning or even a hint of teasing.
But Easton, who was standing not far away, approached her with a dark expression. Seeing this, she didn't have time to take the phone away from her ear and quickly stood up from the sofa.
