I did not have the chance to talk much with Rosalind. We only exchanged greetings before entering different carriages. But as I looked at her, I could feel something different. She was full of life, smiling so brightly like someone who had just been given a new reason to hope. It made me wonder if the medicine the king gave her had something to do with it.
When we got to the village, my carriage came to a smooth stop in front of the complex. Marissa was seated right beside me, and just knowing that made me feel at ease. Her presence had a way of making everything better. I had a feeling this journey would go well.
As we stepped down from the carriage, I saw Princess Rosalind already speaking with some of the nobles. They stood around her, laughing and admiring her. She looked like she belonged there. I walked toward them but stopped a short distance away. I didn't want to force myself into their group. It felt wrong to interrupt without being invited.
