Yi Luowa's heart sank. Although she didn't like Shiqing, hearing about such a major incident made her feel uneasy.
"Is it serious?"
Tong Airui nodded.
"Have you called Aunt Ni Lu?"
Tong Airui shook his head. Aunt Ni Lu had three children. If it had been either of the other two in such a situation, he would have called, but Shiqing was the one exception; he wouldn't bother.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips. "If you don't call, Dad definitely won't either. Aunt Ni Lu must be devastated."
"Mom can call. Go get ready so we can go eat." Yi Luowa patted his shoulder comfortingly. "Don't let an irrelevant person ruin your mood."
Yi Luowa, heavy-hearted, packed a couple of clothes for him before following Tong Airui out the door.
In the living room downstairs, the family was abuzz with discussions about Shiqing's situation. Teng Ai Ni was the most conflicted. For something like this to happen the day before her engagement—it was bound to sour everyone's mood.
