Me or him?
Dong Xin Yan never expected Gu Ningyi to make her choose now. How could she choose? She couldn't choose, nor should she. Matters of the heart were never multiple choice; she couldn't make a rash decision, or it would be unfair to anyone involved.
Just like today was supposed to be the day she and Ziyang registered for marriage, yet she ultimately refused Ziyang because of unresolved feelings, didn't she?
"I'm sorry, I can't choose."
Dong Xin Yan's hands clenched tightly, her red lips pressed firmly together as she slowly began to speak.
Can't choose?
This answer didn't seem to surprise him. Gu Ningyi's dark eyes stared at her, the light in them dimming bit by bit, "Is it that you can't choose, or is the one you've chosen not me?"
Dong Xin Yan's heart trembled, and she instinctively shook her head, "No, it's not like that."
"Isn't it?" Gu Ningyi's voice grew faint and cold, mixed with a deep self-deprecation.
