Delphine arrived in Brocade City at night. This small town nestled against the mountains and beside the water was enveloped in tranquil darkness, all was silent.
Griffith Squire took her and Leah to the villa in Brocade City, then left for errands.
She carried Nicholas Carter to bed, and sat with Leah in Daxton Summer's courtyard chatting. Neither of them felt sleepy, and finally returned to rest only when the sky began to lighten.
Early the next morning, Nicholas Carter woke up to find himself in a new place. The young boy was startled at first, but seeing his mommy sleeping beside him, he calmed down, carefully got up, and began exploring the new surroundings.
Nicholas Carter found the sink, then brought over a stool to stand on. He took out an unused toothbrush and towel from the cabinet, brushed his teeth and washed his face, then ran downstairs to explore the environment of their new home.
