Delphine followed Cassius Turner to search for Chloe Winston nearby.
Both of them wrapped themselves tightly in down jackets, wearing thick gloves as they looked for signs of the little girl in the snow.
Cassius Turner supported her arm and asked softly, "Are you cold, Delphine?"
"I can bear it." Delphine adjusted her snow goggles, though she could still feel her eyelashes freezing. Having endured a life of wandering for years, her body had developed a remarkable resilience.
Cassius tightened her scarf a little more, half-supporting her as they walked. He regretted bringing her out in this weather. At the time, he had only wanted to spend some time alone with Delphine and hadn't considered the harsh conditions.
Cassius used a flashlight to send signals, scanning the surroundings. A vast expanse of white stretched before them, making it impossible to spot anyone.
