While Brand was contemplating, Baron Grudin had already snapped his fingers. Immediately, two servants each brought a wooden box and placed them on the table. They cleared the table, placed the boxes in front of Brand, bowed slightly, and retreated.
The Baron stood up and made a gesture inviting Brand to open the boxes.
"What is this?" Brand thought to himself. He knew the guy wouldn't give him anything good. Although he was a Viscount, Grudin didn't need to curry favor with him. And after the earlier humiliation, it would take more than just a word to describe Grudin's cheekiness.
He hesitated for a moment, then nodded to Antitina, signaling her to open the boxes.
The noble daughter received the command and immediately went to open the boxes. She was playing the role of a Viscount's escort, so she had to behave accordingly and couldn't act as she usually did. But as soon as Antitina opened the first box, her movement froze.
