Mabel Quinn was worried that Kyle Kinston might have unusual symptoms again, so she brought a quilt from her room and lay down to sleep on a long sofa in Kyle's bedroom.
But in the middle of the night, she felt very heavy, as if something was pressing on her.
When she opened her eyes, with the dim moonlight sneaking in through the window, she saw Kyle's face, right up close to hers.
So close that the tips of their noses were almost touching.
Mabel was startled, "K...Kyle... you're awake?" In the moonlight, she could see his phoenix eyes, staring fixedly at her.
It seemed that because she opened her eyes, he leaned back, putting some distance between them. It was only then she realized that the reason she felt heavy was because his whole body was almost pressing on hers.
