The black gorilla, with muscles like solid rock, immediately made Dark think of a certain King Kong.
His heart tightened as he saw the black gorilla suddenly open its massive maw, its roar deafening!
The player platforms had magical protection and wouldn't be harmed by the soundwaves, but Gatomon and Sylveon on the ground were blown backward by the gale created by the roar.
The fur on both Magic Guide Spirits stood on end. The oncoming wind was laced with the savage might of a fierce beast, pressing down on them with a vicious and tyrannical pressure.
Finishing Move—Overlord's Roar!
If not for the fact that both Gatomon and Sylveon were founded on one of the Deadly Sins, they would have likely been shaken into a stupor by this indiscriminate soundwave attack, their spirits withered, bodies terrified, and curled up into trembling balls!
But their powerful minds and the foundation of the Deadly Sins allowed them to withstand this mental pressure.
Gatomon was even spurred into defiance, a thunderous fury born in its heart!
The power of the [Holy Ring] flowed through its entire body.
Gatomon's mana, attack, and defense surpassed its level, reaching 2000, 2400, and 1500 respectively!
Although still lower than the 6-star Overlord Gorilla, the difference between them was now only a single star's worth of stats.
This was not a gap so large as to render it immobile!
"Meow!"
With a furious cry, Gatomon charged against the wind, dragging its right claw as it sped forward!
The black gorilla glared at the white cat coming at it against the wind, but the corner of its mouth curled into a savage grin.
The gap between them was simply too vast.
Both in terms of size and stats.
Before the over five-meter-tall Overlord Gorilla, Gatomon, at just over a meter, was small enough to be ignored.
Although this tiny Digimon hadn't lost its wits to the [Overlord's Roar], the Overlord Gorilla still didn't take it seriously.
"Hmph~"
It acknowledged the roar and retracted its breath.
The tyrannical pressure on the field diluted slightly.
Then, as if swatting a fly, it casually slapped a paw toward the approaching Gatomon!
"Watch out!"
The cry of alarm came from outside the field.
Gatomon glanced outward, and in that instant of distraction, the shadow of the giant paw descended.
But its cat fur sensed the coming wind. With a simple duck, it dodged the slap's attack.

The flexible limbs of a feline were on full display.
Gatomon, lunging forward, actually beat the Overlord Gorilla to the punch, leaving three deep slash marks on its body!

This wasn't even Cat Punch!
The Overlord Gorilla's tough hide couldn't block the sharpness of the gauntlets replicated from "SaberLeomon's claws"!
Scoring a successful hit, Gatomon followed its momentum downward, then spun on its feet to circle around the Overlord Gorilla's side, instantly appearing behind it!
"Swoosh!"
Stung by the pain, the Overlord Gorilla felt its dignity had been challenged. In a fit of impotent rage, it twisted its hips and viciously whipped its thick, long tail at Gatomon.
Gatomon's eyes glinted, and it ducked down in the nick of time—almost pressing its body flat against the ground!
The Overlord Gorilla's tail actually grazed its scalp, scraping off a patch of white fur!
Gatomon quickly rolled forward, flipped over, and twisted around again, half-crouching as it looked at the Overlord Gorilla's back.
This thick-skinned beast had far too many openings.
If it were just screening against an ordinary Magic Guide Spirit, it might be able to cope. But against a highly intelligent and extraordinarily agile Magic Guide Spirit, it was riddled with flaws!
A trace of contempt flashed in Gatomon's eyes.
The corners of its eyes couldn't help but tilt upward.
Is that all you've got!
Then, a burst of power erupted from beneath its feet.
It charged forward once more.
After dodging the sweeping black tail a second time, it kicked off the ground and leaped into the air, crossing a distance of two or three meters to land on the Overlord Gorilla's back. It then bounded up along the spine, reaching the gorilla's head in just a few steps!
"ROAR!"
The Overlord Gorilla let out another furious roar.
Unfortunately, without the enhancement of a finishing move, the mental pressure of this roar no longer had any effect on Gatomon.
As it raised a hand to slap its own skull, Gatomon had already used [Cat Punch] on the back of its head!
The three lion claws on the gauntlet were like blades, completely tearing through the thick, tough hide.

The intense pain from this sent the Overlord Gorilla into a frenzy, making it slap its own head!

But Gatomon, a master of guerrilla tactics, never lingered after a successful strike. With a 360-degree backflip, it had already landed safely.
The Overlord Gorilla's mana hadn't actually dropped by much, but it was clearly enraged to the point of abandoning all thought—an intelligence level of 2.5 was no different from being an idiot in Gatomon's eyes!
A deep-seated arrogance showed in Gatomon's eyes.
It extended a claw and licked it, watching as the enraged Overlord Gorilla turned around, merely settling into a stance ready to accelerate at any moment!
"Black Ape Hammer!"
A clear voice suddenly rang out.
Angelia, on her player platform, could no longer hold back from issuing a command!
By now, her eye was twitching uncontrollably.
If everything that had happened before was more or less within the realm of acceptability, then this current "one-sided battle" of a 4-star Magic Guide Spirit versus a 6-star one had completely thrown her off balance.
The dueling class textbooks had never taught that a 4-star Magic Guide Spirit could technically suppress a 6-star one without any external buffs!
If a 4-star can be stronger than a 6-star, then what's the point of the difference in levels, in stats?
...
Of course, there is a point.
It's just that beneath the surface layer of stats, Magic Guide Spirits still hide other non-negligible factors like speed, reflexes, smell, hearing... and even intelligence!
Gatomon's speed and reflexes were clearly above average, and its intelligence was maxed out, a complete crush.
The gap between them was by no means as large as the surface-level data suggested.
If one had to make an analogy, Gatomon was like a player-controlled character, while the Overlord Gorilla was a boss whose level and stats surpassed the player's.
The final outcome depends on the player's skill.

In its fury, the Overlord Gorilla raised its arms high. Dark light formed a cylindrical black mass on its forearms, which it then slammed viciously toward Gatomon!
But Gatomon had already started moving the moment it raised its arms to charge its [Finishing Move]!
By the time the [Black Ape Hammer] smashed into the ground, Gatomon had already accelerated and lunged away!
