Chapter 98: Dark Demon Reunites with the Princess
That little panda walked stealthily behind him.
When he abruptly turned his head, the little bear immediately hid in a nearby alley.
But with its short legs, it really couldn't run fast, giving an unusually comical impression.
"It's a person, right."
Dark Demon silently complained.
Most likely someone in a little bear costume, just didn't know if it was a first-year or a second-year.
But judging from the height, the age probably wasn't too great.
"Stop following me."
After saying this from a distance, Dark Demon turned and continued forward.
But after a few steps, the rustling sound of footsteps came from behind again.
This made him frown slightly. He turned his head and said, "So, is there a reason you're following me?"
The little bear's body stiffened instantly, then it suddenly raised its hand and shouted, "Waah!"
Dark Demon: "How old are you?"
Little Bear: "11."
Dark Demon: "..."
Little Bear: (⊙>口<⊙)
...
Three black lines appeared on Dark Demon's face. He crossed his arms and said, "11 years old, so are you Anna or Angie?"
Little Bear: "Anna!"
Dark Demon: "Angie, then."
Little Bear: "Anna!"
Dark Demon: "Never mind, where's your older sister?"
Princess Angie then skipped to Dark Demon's side, feigning, "Trick or treat!"
Dark Demon then casually tossed the bag of candies he was carrying to her.
Angie subconsciously caught it, and her hands immediately sagged, almost dropping it. "What is this?"
A smile appeared on Dark Demon's face, "The candies you wanted. Alright, this whole bag of candies is yours now. Go play on your own, don't bother me."
Having finally gotten rid of the troublesome candies, Dark Demon was naturally very happy.
In the kingdom, he was, after all, a Duke's son and had known the three princesses since childhood.
Just as little kids always like to run around after older sisters, Dark Demon had also clung to Princess Elisa when he was little, but that was a long time ago.
After all, there was at least a six-year age difference. By the time Dark Demon was sensible, Princess Elisa was already busy with her studies.
And the ones who played with him after that were the twin princesses, who were a year younger.
Because Princess Anna was born with abundant magic power, one time her magic suddenly went out of control, causing the surrounding toys to float up and hit Dark Demon on the head, leaving him with bumps.
Thus, Dark Demon later gave her the nickname "Old Witch."
And after that...
There was no after that.
Dark Demon's relationship with Anna became extremely strained, and consequently, his relationship with Angie also deteriorated.
Around the age of seven, they had a complete falling out.
After that, Dark Demon became increasingly mischievous, and the princesses also became more naughty.
Five years passed in the blink of an eye. Unexpectedly, their first meeting again outside of public occasions would be in the corridors of St. Marian's Castle.
Dark Demon felt a slight sense of nostalgia.
Angie, however, had already placed the candy bag on the ground and was excitedly untying the ropes to inspect it.
"Hey, Dark Demon," Angie suddenly asked.
Dark Demon casually replied, "Hmm."
Angie added, "How do you have so many candies? How about I follow you and help you pick them up?"
Dark Demon: "No."
Angie said excitedly, "Then it's settled!"
Dark Demon wouldn't bother with her. While she was engrossed in the magical Halloween candies, he took a step and quickly ran off!
"Ah!"
The little bear costume was already clumsy.
When Angie saw the detestable Dark Demon trying to escape, she immediately wanted to chase, but in her haste, she accidentally kicked over the candy bag, causing a large amount of candy to spill out and roll all over the floor.
An ominous aura suddenly appeared in the air.
Dark Demon, who hadn't run far, abruptly stopped. He then perked up his ears and actually heard a faint sound coming from afar.
The sound grew closer and clearer.
"Where's my little bear?"
"Who saw my little bear?"
Dark Demon suddenly turned his head and saw, on the other side of the dark corridor, an oversized stuffed bear revealing half its body.
That stuffed bear was a full three meters tall, its button eyes emitting an eerie green phosphorescence. Its skin was pieced together from cloth scraps of various colors, and a dark aura continuously seeped out from the seams.
If it were just that, it wouldn't be too terrifying.
But the half of its body it subsequently revealed was a pale skeleton with tattered flesh hanging off it!
"Have you seen my little bear?"
The hoarse voice seemed to drill into one's bones, making one shiver uncontrollably.
...
"Squeak?"
Somewhere in the castle.
Professor Lily Laplace was blowing bubbles on the sofa with Professor Thompson, when she suddenly jolted and sprang up like a fish.
"No way? That kind of mechanism can also be triggered?"
Professor Lily Laplace instantly sobered up, quickly covered herself with a card, and her whole body immediately became ethereal.
Then, the dragonfly wings on her back flapped, and she actually flew directly through the wall towards the fifth floor of the castle.
She wasn't panicking, but curious.
"Who on earth is so lucky to trigger even this?"
...
"Woo!"
As Angie turned, she abruptly covered her mouth.
A small, dog-headed spirit squeezed its head out from a gap in her little bear costume.
But Angie's eyes darted around, and she stuffed the little spirit sent by Headmistress Cynthia back into the costume, then let out a panicked scream.
A truly wonderful dolphin-like shriek.
However, just as her scream began, she noticed a flash in the corner of her eye. The blond boy, completely different from her memory, dressed in luxurious clothes, had already dashed past her, fearlessly rushing towards that terrifying Stuffed Bear Zombie!
"Truly, to find something after searching far and wide, only to have it fall into your lap!"
Dark Demon suppressed the joy in his heart; a magic spirit card had already appeared between his two fingers.
He was somewhat confident in dealing with this kind of solitary hidden ghost.
But listening to the Stuffed Bear Zombie's voice, it seemed to be coming for little bear Angie?
Could the trigger mechanism be bear + candy?
Or was it the act of "a little bear spilling candy on the ground"?
He couldn't figure it out for now.
But did it matter?
Not important!
Dark Demon stopped abruptly, the magic spirit card held between his two fingers swiped across his chest.
"Magic Summon!"
A small, turtle-like magic spirit appeared between the human and the bear.
...
Angie, who had stopped screaming, looked at the small, red-shelled, yellow-skinned turtle and couldn't help but ask curiously, "Is this Dark Demon's magic spirit? Why does it look so lame!"
At the same time, the dog-headed spirit once again squeezed out from between her fingers.
But its eyes blinked, and it suddenly stopped moving.
A small pixie, like a ghost, poked its little head out from the ceiling, winking at it.
...
"Found it, my little bear!"
The Stuffed Bear Zombie, however, completely ignored Shuckle and Dark Demon, its burning gaze fixed on the third princess wearing the little bear costume.
It sprinted forward without warning, its pale skeleton enveloped in a black aura, fierce and evil.
...
