"Angels, descend!"

Jerna raised her knight's sword. Pure holy radiance burst forth, illuminating her figure with a majesty both sacred and awe-inspiring.

Above her, within the dazzling brilliance, a twelve-winged archangel appeared. Its vast white wings unfurled, scattering countless motes of divine light. Though its form was concealed in holiness, none dared to look directly upon it.

The wings slowly lifted, and the figure dissolved into a pillar of white radiance that descended straight into Jerna's body.

Boom!A colossal surge of energy erupted. A pillar of pure light shot into the heavens, and the shockwave rolled outwards like a tidal wave of sanctity—obliterating everything in its path.

For the first time, Shen Ji's usually indifferent expression shifted. She lifted her long blade, four colors blooming across its edge like dawns converging.

"…So you really summoned an angel?"

From the battlefield's edge, Li Yuqin's voice trembled. "That… was a real angel?"

Mammon frowned, gaze sharp. "No, more likely an angelic descent. But even so… Shanteville never used this. Why could this knight?"

The thought gnawed at him. He had drained Shanteville's very essence, yet this technique had never surfaced. Was it exclusive to knights? Or simply too rare? Still, the truth mattered less than the fact: Jerna's power had skyrocketed, and reinforcements were approaching.

A massive white griffin was already streaking across the skies toward them.

Mammon's brows knitted. Damn. Shen Ji didn't finish her in time. Support has arrived, and in Hangcheng of all places—the Light God Realm's own stronghold.

And worse, the singer had not yet acted. One epic singer was equal to a nuclear weapon—his absence was baffling. Did he trust Jerna? Was he constrained? Or… was there some hidden reason?

Mammon's eyes narrowed toward the grand temple at the city's heart. If it's the latter… there's room to maneuver.

The holy radiance finally dimmed. Jerna stepped forth anew, her aura blazing. Behind her stretched a pair of immaculate wings—holy, radiant, terrible in their purity.

"An angel's wings?" Shen Ji's eyes flickered faintly.

Jerna's voice rang solemn: "This is the final gift of my goddess—the Angel's Descent. It lets me break my limits, if only for a short time."

She raised her sword high, her expression radiant, divine authority cloaking her every word.

"I swore never to squander this power, for it is the goddess's recognition of me. But—for the Light God Realm—I must stand here now!"

With a cry, she swept forward. The knight's blade tore a blazing mark through the void, aiming for Shen Ji's heart.

Shen Ji met it with a single, calm motion. Four strands of dawnlight flared across her blade.

Clang!

The collision nearly wrenched Jerna's sword from her grip. The redirected strike carved a blinding arc through the city—cleaving a towering building clean in two.

"You borrowed your goddess's power for this?" Shen Ji said flatly. Her tone was that of someone swatting aside a child's toy.

Jerna's eyes widened. "Impossible… with the angel's blessing I—"

"You're surprised? If not for that epic singer watching, you'd already be dead." Shen Ji's voice was utterly calm, almost regretful. "My strength is too direct to conceal. That is the only reason you still stand."

Her gaze was cold, Barbie-doll beautiful yet merciless. "If it had been Yusuke here, perhaps he'd have toyed with you. I should have killed you outright from the start."

Jerna's face twisted. The contempt, the casual dismissal—it was unbearable.

Still, she forced herself to raise her blade, praying fervently:

"O goddess above! Grant me the power to purge evil—!"

But her words died.

Slash.

The four-dawn blade cut mercilessly. Blood spattered, a deep wound tearing across Jerna from shoulder to abdomen.

"Too much nonsense," Shen Ji murmured coldly, already lifting her gaze skyward.

A shadow fell over the battlefield. From above descended the colossal white griffin—its wings blotting out the sun.
