Yu's chest heaved, tears running hot down his cheeks before he even realized the words were clawing out of him.
"Theo…"
He cried, voice cracking, high and thin.
"Theo Kingsley's the father."
The admission hung in the sterile room like a shattering glass, impossible to take back. Yu sobbed harder, clutching at his belly.
"But I don't want him here—I don't! I'm scared of him."
His eyes flicked wildly to Joy, then to the nurse.
"I want Adrian. He's been with me for every appointment, every visit—he talks to our OBGYN, he knows what's happening with me. Please, let Adrian stay as the one. Not Theo."
The nurse's expression softened, though her professionalism held steady. She reached out, adjusting the blanket around Yu's trembling shoulders.
"I understand."
She said quietly, her tone both sympathetic and firm.
"We can absolutely work with Adrian as your support person and point of contact. But…"
She paused, clipboard steady in her hands.
