Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: The Storm of Desire

When Himeko arrived, Chen Ran was already lying on the ground.

She was still a step too late.

Her chest burned with anger, and without hesitation, she charged at Raven. As a former member of the Schicksal assault team, Himeko's combat skills and abilities were well-known.

However, the more she fought, the more alarmed she became; the combat skills and strength of the person before her far exceeded her own.

This was definitely not someone from Anti-Entropy.

As a member of Schicksal, Himeko had some understanding of Anti-Entropy.

Due to their ideology, Anti-Entropy did not support using Valkyries for combat, opting instead for mechs. Although Anti-Entropy now also had a complete Valkyrie training program, they had not trained any Valkyries.

This meant that there was a third party force between Schicksal and Anti-Entropy.

But now was not the time for Himeko to think.

Relying on her combat instincts, she predicted several of Raven's dodging locations.

And Raven indeed fell into the places she had predicted, but facing Himeko's attacks, the fierce counterattacks she unleashed left Himeko feeling overwhelmed.

Himeko's combat skills were excellent, but her body was not in good shape.

She had implanted artificial Stigmata only when she was nearly twenty, and the early artificial Stigmata were not perfect, causing a strong rejection with her body.

Over the years, her body had been suffering from the corruption of the artificial Stigmata, and recently, when she went to Nagazora City to retrieve the Herrscher of Thunder, she had directly donned the prototype fourth-generation armor.

When she returned from Nagazora City, Theresa had directly told her that she would need to lie in bed for at least a month, but because of Wendy, Himeko forced herself to get out of bed and head to the ocean branch.

Under normal circumstances, she should not have participated in these battles.

The sounds of clashing weapons pierced the air, and upon realizing that her opponent was formidable, Himeko temporarily changed her strategy.

She decided to wait for Theresa to deal with the enemies on that side before joining forces to deal with this one.

As for now, she could only try to buy time.

With this thought in mind, Himeko's attacks naturally became more conservative.

Raven also sensed Himeko's intentions and scoffed, "Do you think just buying time will work? How ridiculous."

She didn't want to kill, but she didn't mind threatening lives.

"I don't care, but if the one lying on the ground doesn't get treatment, he will die."

Himeko ignored the enemy's threats.

To her, these were distractions outside of battle.

Holding Sunfire, she looked like a valiant knight.

What Raven said was indeed true, but the only solution now was to wait for reinforcements, not to rely on the enemy's mercy.

She would not choose between Chen Ran and Wendy.

Just as Himeko was gloomily responding, Wendy suddenly spoke up, "Teacher Himeko, take Chen Ran and go."

"No."

She said, "That person is coming for you; I can't leave you behind."

"I'm fine."

Wendy felt the cold night wind, but her eyes revealed a gentle smile, "After all, what those people want is a living Wendy, isn't it?"

"Exactly."

Raven raised an eyebrow and said, "A dead you naturally has no value for me to act, so the living you is the most important."

"Whether to save one or two, this is actually a very easy choice, isn't it?"

Himeko's eyes narrowed.

How could someone with her experience not know that Raven was applying psychological pressure on her?

This was a clever psychological tactic: although it was Raven who was taking action, the choice had shifted to her.

Thus, if Chen Ran unfortunately died, the primary responsibility would shift from Raven to her. Similarly, if Wendy were taken away because of this, she would also become the primary responsible party.

What to do?

If she continued to buy time, Chen Ran would not hold on much longer.

But if she handed Wendy over to Raven, what would happen to Wendy?

Himeko hesitated for half a minute.

"You win."

In the end, she chose the pragmatic approach; saving Chen Ran was the priority.

Raven's voice was indifferent: "A correct choice."

She slowly approached Wendy, and Himeko hesitated but still did not make a move.

The opponent was evidently strong, and now she was getting closer to Wendy and Chen Ran, making Himeko cautious.

Raven looked closely at Wendy, noticing that the latter was also glaring at her with anger.

This was a normal emotion; after all, no one liked being kidnapped.

"You have a nice boyfriend; I handle so many commissions, and it's rare to see someone so responsible."

After saying this, she disregarded Wendy's feelings and directly lifted her with one hand: "Let's go, it's freezing tonight."

Wendy instinctively looked at Chen Ran lying on the ground.

A hint of reluctance showed in her eyes.

"No... don't..."

At this moment, Chen Ran was lying on the ground, mumbling.

However, his words could not shift any will.

...

...

The night wind was cold.

Raven took Wendy away from Saint Freya, where a flying vehicle was already prepared.

She did not treat Wendy like a prisoner or captive; often, Raven was quite gentle.

The girl was placed in a seat in the flying vehicle and secured with a seatbelt.

After doing this, she finally let out a slight sigh of relief.

"Although there were some unexpected troubles, the process went relatively smoothly. I know this is very unfair to you, but there's no other way; it's just a stopgap measure."

Raven paused, looking at the expressionless Wendy, and said, "Eat something; I've prepared some liquid food and canned goods. Don't worry, I won't do anything to you."

However, Wendy suddenly spoke up, "We should be far enough now."

"What?"

"I mean, we should be far enough from the far east branch, far enough from human cities, right?"

Wendy's question left Raven somewhat puzzled.

She replied lightly, "If you're hoping for someone to rescue you, that's almost impossible. We are currently above the ocean, and there's virtually no chance of being intercepted."

"After all, Schicksal hasn't planted spies in our organization."

After saying this, she felt quite pleased with herself.

Schicksal was the largest organization fighting against Honkai in the world, yet now it was being toyed with by a snake.

This feeling was actually quite nice.

But suddenly, Wendy laughed.

"Then that's good."

"In that case, I don't have to worry about involving anyone else, nor do I have to fear that he will see my ugly side."

Raven suddenly had a bad premonition.

The storm of desire erupted at this moment!

Fire Moth, First Research Institute.

Number 666 was handing a scalpel to Mobius.

Upon realizing that the suitability of Honkai Energy was also linked to thought, Mobius began preparing for the transcription experiment of genetic information.

In simple terms, it was about transcribing memories of fighting against Honkai into genes.

Thought is a derivative of the information carrier.

And genes are essential information carriers for living beings.

This was an extremely delicate, clever, and even extremely complex experiment, but for Mobius, it could very well be the key to unlocking human evolution.
