Three Weeks After the Duel
The Turtle Rock had arrived at dawn on the tenth day after the battle, exactly as Sigora had promised. The massive earth elemental that served as the foundation for the sur'haka clan's mobile settlement moved across the desert with surprising grace, its enormous form casting shadows that stretched for miles as the sun rose behind it.
The red elf clans had watched its approach with a mixture of awe and trepidation. Few had ever seen one of the ancient earth elementals, and none had expected something so vast. The creature's shell alone was nearly a quarter mile across, and the structures built upon it—homes, workshops, storage facilities, even gardens—created a miniature city that moved as a single cohesive unit.
