Its lair, a gargantuan volcano, was the largest Zion had ever laid eyes on. It dominated the horizon, its jagged mouth stretched across the skyline, and its peak pierced the stratosphere like a blackened spear aimed at the heavens.
The air was choked with negative mana—thick, suffocating, and so saturated in malevolence that it disrupted Zion's natural control over his own power. Even channeling mana felt like forcing light through a sea of shadows.
"And you expect me to climb that?" Zion asked, looking at Lilith with a furrowed brow. "Can't I just, I don't know, walk right through the front door?"
She slapped him on the back of the head. "And where do you think the 'front door' is?"
