Chapter 1 - Prologue

His hands could craft and mold the reality that surrounded him to his whim, existence being nothing more than putty to the mighty being beyond the bounds of normal man. Mountains crack to his will and clouds part on his command. Humanity would be at his mercy if he so chose it to be. No one could stop him. Not man, woman, nor child could create enough power, enough force to even make him flinch from pain.

Hailed throughout the various macro national powers as the mighty "Godking" and feared by even the mightiest of beings, this man chose to use his powers to create something great. A nation, consisting of four other old countries, turned to territories through conquest and war. Four countries fell to his power and that of his mighty armies. Agria, known for its hunters, farmers, and one day, a potential heir to his grand empire. Akashia, magic made power and burned into the customs of a magically inclined people. Silver, innovation, invention, and improvement via non-magical means. Militaria, a militaristic nation where your rank would make your status.

Upon his conquests of each nation, he would establish a new set of noble lines plus a royal family. Recrafting their very being to make them only capable of producing daughters as nobility, and only one daughter, on a whim and establishing a matriarchal ruling system around it. Men would be ineligible for nobility unless one of the five spirit blades of the Godking acknowledged them as its master. A potential reincarnation of the great being that he is. And heir to the empire he'd made.

It was common knowledge that men would not interrupt women for these reasons, though they were careful to be treated with respect, their role still being needed for the prosperity of the nation. The kingdom, under these rules, existed in peace and prosperity for most of this time. Even the advents of hell gates and history's second true necromancer could not fell the Godking's great Kingdom of Heroes. Nor the cataclysmically failed attempt to re-establish male nobility outside of the great king's parameters. Even its direct neighbors, The Golden Empire and The Imperium of the Dragon, dared not to trespass on the lands in fear of the much smaller nation's retaliation.

Several thousand years have passed since the disappearance of the Godking, a young boy finds himself before a crypt. A crypt that will change his life, and the history of the Kingdom of Heroes, as well as the high noble women of the lands, forever.

________________________________________________

The hunter stares at the scribbles on the letter for a few moments before making a sound reminiscent of a horse blasting air from its mouth. The letter was a job handed to him by a traveling merchant's wife. She'd likely penned it in place of the merchant, if he'd had to guess, and since he couldn't read, the parchment just seemed like that, parchment with fancy little scribbles all over it. He'd gone home after receiving it, but none of his spouses were home.

He'd hoped at least one of his wives had still been there. He was sure he'd a husband capable of reading as well, but it was a safer bet to assume a woman could read than a man.

"Papa Albert!" A small girl yells while running up to the burly man. She wasn't a direct progeny of his, hence why he was referred to by his name by the girl instead of just father, but he'd still do anything for the little one. With a soft thud, she hugged him with a giggle. "Mother and mama Ginny went out to look for you. They said you were out longer than they'd expected."

"Ah, I see. Must have just missed them then." He says, sitting down and placing the small girl in his lap. "Say, where's your father and papa Logan."

"Father is out with the woodcutters today and papa Logan said that he wanted to teach Sid how to use a bow today. So they're out back shooting at trees." She says as she looks at the letter, her eyes skimming the scribbles. "Papa Albert, is this a job?"

"Ah! Sorry sweetie. I didn't mean for you to see that. How much could you read?"

"Not much. Mama Ginny and Silica have been trying to teach me, but I'm not learning too good."

"Learning too well, sweetie." He corrects gently.

"Right! Sorry Papa!" She says with a giggle. She's always been good about lessons.

"Tell me what you can read then."

"Oh, uh, here it says hunt, here it says boar, and here it says, uhh…" She looks at the words for a long time before giving up. "I'm still learning numbers papa, but the word after that is gold."

"Good job deary." says a feminine voice from the doorway. The girl excitedly hops off the man's lap and runs to her. The man stands up and follows after her. Showing the woman the letter as she picks the girl up.

"Did I really do good mama Ginny?"

"Very good. Albert," she says looking at him with concern, "an abnormally large boar has been attacking caravans. They're offering fifty gold for the carcass."

"Only fifty?" The man grunts. Most boar carcasses unbutchered go for forty-five gold, he doubted that this was a fair price. He could potentially butcher it and sell the parts for more, but that tended to be too dangerous out in the wild, and the fees for getting the bastards butchered by the butcher shop tended to even out anyway. So he didn't care nearly as much. "Fine. We need the money anyway."

"We should give some to the Rocksalt family if we're able."

"Ah, right, her husband died recently and neither married more than once, did they?"

"No, and she has a little boy. She likely struggles more than we do." She says with a sad face.

"I'll see if I can haggle for more gold than what's offered. Fifty won't be enough to share with Logan and Loran's child on the way." She nods solemnly. "Can I take Sid with me on this hunt?"

"Are you sure our son can handle it? He only just turned fifteen." She asks with a tinge of fear in her voice.

"He wants to join the royal knights. So he'll need to hunt a boar or two right?" She nods in agreement and gives him the okay by doing so. Smiling as the little girl's head rests on her shoulder.

"You have to take Logan too though."

"Right, I will."

With that, he left. It didn't take long for the three men to get ready to hunt. If Ginny didn't need to watch the little girl and Loran weren't pregnant, they probably would have brought one or both of them with the group, just to be safe. Unfortunately, it wasn't in the cards, so this hunt was going to double as a male bonding trip.

The party of hunters had gone quite a ways into the forest without seeing deer, boar, wolf, or bear. This would normally be fine, if there were any bird sounds being made as well.

"Father." The inexperienced boy says silently to Albert, who was heading the hunting party. "The forest is far too quiet, isn't it?"

"Yeah… Sid."

"Yes?"

"It may be best if you head home and trade places with your mother." Sid looks at his father. Contemplating what he'd said and being about to respond.

Snooort, hurk, hurk, hurk, squeeeee!!!

The boar, standing mere meters away, stared at them. Glared at them. The third man moved to stand between the massive beast and the boy he viewed as a son. Albert felt his face drain of color at the sheer massiveness of the animal. If your average boar was as long as an adult human was tall, then this one had to have been at least three times larger than that. No wonder it was stopping caravans of trade merchants by its lonesome. He was positive this thing would need at least ten, twenty, maybe the whole villages worth of hunters to stop it.

What may be most shocking though?

"Piggy!!!" A boy, likely no older than the little girl who'd greeted Albert before he'd left his home to hunt, slams his full body into the side of the boar, throwing it towards a nearby tree. A squealing sound could be heard from the boar as it retaliates, crashing its body into the boy and causing him to not only smash into a tree, but through it.

The boar squawks in triumph. As though this battle between small human and giant beast had been going on for hours at the least. Only for the muddy boy to stand up with a loud "harumph" and pat himself off. The boar looking just as confused and shocked as the three hunters watching. The child spreads out his arms and begins running full speed towards the giant, causing it to step back in preparation for what was to come.

"Wham attack!" The boy, with the full force of his skull and body, creates the loudest "thunk" the hunters had ever heard when he slammed into the boar's skull. Likely rattling the beast's brain as it falls over unconscious. Albert couldn't help but wonder what magic, what spellcraft would have to be used to beat a monstrous boar of that size with physical strength alone. Let alone the physical abilities of a child no more than four years of age. The boy's head perks up for a moment, running down to the hunters with a big smile. "I gotta run, mother's calling me. Please take care of mister piggy!"

"Hey, wait, kid!" The child had run into the forest and away from the hunters before they could even catch him. Their shock and awe barely hidden for the moments before they remember, the boar still needed to be hunted. The adults of the group were positive no one would believe them about what actually beat this beast into submission.
