Whitebeard: The Strongest Man in the World
To countless ordinary people, Edward Newgate, known as Whitebeard, was the most terrifying pirate.
Even though Bai Yu had recently been called "the strongest in the New World", Whitebeard still far surpassed him in influence.
At 72 years old, Whitebeard had lived through multiple pirate eras:
• The Rocks Era
• The Era of Overlords
• The Great Pirate Era
Especially during the time of the Three Great Powers, Whitebeard had never truly lost a battle—at most, he had fought to a draw.
He had stood at the top of the sea for decades.
"What an overwhelming presence…"
Nami whispered in awe before turning to Bai Yu.
"Who's stronger? Whitebeard or the Pirate King, Roger?"
Bai Yu smirked.
"Roger never actually defeated Whitebeard. Even while suffering from a terminal illness, Whitebeard stood at the top. Being the Pirate King didn't mean Roger was the strongest—just that he reached Laugh Tale first."
Hearing this, the girls realized that many people had mythologized Roger's strength.
Roger had never conquered all the pirates—he had just found the truth of the world first.
Monet, recalling something from the Donquixote Family's history, asked curiously:
"Then what about Kaido of the Beasts?"
The girls were all curious.
After all, Whitebeard was known as "The Strongest Man in the World", while Kaido was called "The Strongest Creature in the Sea, Land, and Air."
Which title was superior?
"The two are ten years apart, so comparing their past strength is difficult…"
Bai Yu considered for a moment before continuing:
"But now, Kaido is in his prime, while Whitebeard is relying on medical infusions. The result is obvious."
Perona rolled her eyes.
"What about you? Could you beat them?"
Bai Yu replied calmly:
"Are you asking if I could beat Roger, Whitebeard, and Kaido at the same time? No problem."
"Tch, bragging."
"Heh, asking for a beating?"
Bai Yu grabbed Perona, sat her on his lap, and smacked her playfully.
The other girls laughed lightly.
"Pops!"
Ace cried out desperately.
Sitting nearby, Garp couldn't help but feel conflicted.
Ace is my grandson, but he calls Whitebeard his father… What does that make me?
At 76 years old, Garp suddenly realized he technically had a 72-year-old eldest son.
Whitebeard, however, remained unfazed.
"Gurararara! Long time no see, Sengoku…"
He looked at Sengoku's still-black hair and couldn't help but recall the days when his own golden locks had flowed in the wind—before they all fell out.
But bald or not, he had still become the world's strongest man!
Looking at his old rival, Sengoku's eyes flashed with complicated emotions.
"Newgate, now that you're here, you won't be leaving!"
Whitebeard grinned.
"Gurarara! You inviting me to dinner?"
He stabbed Murakumogiri into the ground, clenched his fists, and declared:
"Ace, wait for me! I'm taking you home!"
"The Power to Destroy the World"
Whitebeard punched the air on both sides, and the resulting shockwaves were so intense that many people felt their eardrums might burst.
At first glance, it seemed as though space itself had shattered around him.
"Whoa! Is space cracking?!"
"No, idiot Sugar! It's the atmosphere breaking, not space! Look closely!"
The girls watched in astonishment.
Whitebeard's power was truly terrifying.
"The Quake-Quake Fruit…"
Bai Yu observed the scene.
In theory, this fruit could shatter space itself.
But that was just theory.
Shattering the atmosphere and shattering space were entirely different levels of power.
If someone could truly break space, then creatures like Kaido, Big Mom, and even Logia users wouldn't stand a chance.
One punch into a space rift—and they'd all be annihilated instantly.
Bai Yu pondered.
"The atmosphere is visible, but space is not. If I develop my powers further… could I truly shatter space itself?"
He wasn't obsessed with the idea, though.
His real foundation was his physical body and spirit.
A Frozen Battlefield
Whitebeard's punch sent shockwaves into the ocean, causing the sea around Marineford to boil violently.
In moments, two hundreds-of-meters-high tsunamis rose, preparing to crash down on the island.
Sengoku's expression darkened.
"This is why he must not be allowed to leave. He holds the power to destroy the world."
"Alalala… this level of destruction is really troublesome…"
With a yawn, Aokiji jumped into the air.
The cold erupted from his body like a tidal wave of frost.
"Ice Age!"
In an instant, the tsunamis froze solid, the entire inner bay turning into a frozen battlefield.
Whitebeard narrowed his eyes.
"So it's you again, Ice Boy… Always getting in my way!"
He shouted toward his men:
"The sea is frozen! Let's go, boys! Time to save Ace!"
"OHHHH!"
The Whitebeard Pirates charged forward, running across the frozen battlefield.
The War Begins
The battle for Marineford erupted into chaos.
• Whitebeard Pirates: 1,600 core members + 50,000 allies from 43 crews
• Marines: 100,000 elite troops + Shichibukai
Despite their numbers, Whitebeard's lack of high-level fighters made victory impossible.
Bai Yu, observing from above, turned his attention to the Shichibukai.
Hancock stood atop her giant snake, while Bartholomew Kuma stood motionless, his presence almost corpse-like.
The three new Shichibukai, however, were excitedly slaughtering Whitebeard's pirates.
Robin handed Bai Yu a document.
"These were sent by Stussy. I organized them—these three are dangerous."
1. "Bone-Bone Fruit" – The Bone King, Charles (Destroyed an entire country) Bounty: 580 million
2. "Blood-Blood Fruit" – Vampire Eric (Wiped out two islands) Bounty: 540 million
3. "Aurora-Aurora Fruit" – Aurora Swordsman Haskot (A Logia user who enjoys killing women) Bounty: 790 million
"Three ruthless bastards," Bai Yu muttered.
But when he saw the Aurora Fruit, he nodded in approval.
"That's a solid Logia—especially for Tashigi."
Tashigi blinked.
"Me?"
Bai Yu smirked.
"It manipulates magnetic fields, creates illusions, fires lightning, and moves at light speed—perfect for a swordswoman."
Tashigi thought for a moment before nodding.
"Alright, I'll take it."
Bai Yu turned to the girls.
"Watch for strong abilities. If you like one, tell me—I'll steal it!"
The Battle Intensifies
Kizaru descended from the sky, glowing like a miniature sun.
"Eightfold Jewel Flash!"
Marco transformed into a blue-gold phoenix and intercepted Kizaru mid-air.
Kizaru chuckled.
"Ah, an undying Phoenix… You're terrifying."
"Stop joking!" Marco yelled, kicking Kizaru into the ruins below.
Bai Yu smirked.
"Let's see who betrays Whitebeard first."
Moments later, Squard stabbed Whitebeard in the back.
Bai Yu chuckled.
"The legendary 'dutiful son,' huh?"
