Aunty Merinda ran towards Kate's room, anger plastered all over her face. When she reached her room, instead of knocking like she always does, she forcefully kicked the door open.
"Aunt-" Kate rose from her seat while clutching her sleeping robe. Her eyes were wide from shock at the sudden and loud intrusion.
"I told you not to do something stupid! "she bellowed as she approached Kate. "Go- leave now! Take a trip or vacation far away from here. You hear me! "
"Auntie! What are you talking about? "
"Stop playing dumb with me! That peasant girl's husband and his friend got into an accident, and now they are in critical condition! We keep tabs on them, remember! " Aunty Merinda shouted in exasperation as she opened Kate's closet, took out her luggage and threw it on her bed. Then, she hastily pulled out pieces of her clothes with the hangers and threw them into the luggage.
