The next morning, Penelope watched the recording from her warehouse camera with a big smile on her face.
She had heard everything Berlin and Karlos said. She knew they were onto her.
"Perfect," Penelope said to herself. "Let them think they're smart. Let them think they're one step ahead. It will make it so much sweeter when I destroy them."
She picked up her phone and called Mike.
"They found out about you," she said when Mike answered.
"What?" Mike said, sounding scared. "How?"
"You dropped a receipt at the warehouse, you idiot," Penelope said. "Now they know your name."
"This is bad," Mike said. "Very bad. If they start looking into me, they'll find out about my company, my past, everything!"
"Calm down," Penelope said. "This could actually work in our favor."
"How?" Mike demanded.
"Because now we can control what they find," Penelope said. "We'll feed them information. Make them think they're discovering our plan. But really, they'll be walking right into our trap."
