Chapter 163 - The Team Is So Back!

Third Person's POV.

The Airport was its usual chaotic self, but parked right at the curb of the arrivals terminal was a gleaming, brand-new black Jeep Wrangler. It looked rugged, expensive, and perfectly out of place amidst the yellow cabs—just like its owner.

Penelope leaned against the hood, her arms crossed over a chic trench coat, inspecting her perfectly manicured nails while Ohio paced beside her, checking her phone every thirty seconds.

"Relax, Ohio. The flight landed twenty minutes ago. Customs for first-class usually takes five," Penelope said, though she was tapping her foot just as impatiently.

"I can't help it! Two weeks is the longest I've gone without hearing Gemini's voice in person," Ohio complained. "And I need to know if he actually survived being alone for that long with your brother in another country."

Suddenly, the sliding glass doors hissed open. Two familiar figures emerged. Percy was walking with a protective hand on the small of Gemini's back, looking tan, rested, and impossibly sharp even after an eight-hour flight. Gemini was glowing, wearing Percy's oversized hoodie and holding a duty-free bag.

"They're here!" Ohio yelled, abandoning her post and sprinting toward them.

"Bunny!" Ohio practically tackled her best friend into a hug, nearly knocking the straw hat off Gemini's head. "You're so tan! You're alive! Did he make you do some spiritual retreats in the caldera? Blink twice if you need a lawyer!"

Gemini laughed, hugging Ohio back tightly. "I'm fine, Ohio! It was amazing. I actually didn't want to come back."

Percy stepped forward, pulling Penelope into a one-armed hug. "A jeep? Really, Pen? I leave for two weeks and you buy a tank?"

"It's not just a tank, it's an investment in my future 'cool aunt' persona. Your kids will thank me for this one day," Penelope teased, grinning. "Now get in. I'm not letting the traffic cops ruin this reunion."

Once they were settled into the plush interior of the Jeep—Percy and Gemini in the back, Ohio in the passenger seat, and Penelope at the helm—the energy was electric.

"Oh my gosh, look at you two. You actually look...peaceful. I half expected Percy to come back with grey hairs and a briefcase full of new property deeds. But seriously, it was quiet back here. Too quiet. Mother was a nightmare for the first few days, stalking my schedule like a ghost in a Dior suit, asking everyone where you were. I had to tell her you were 'off the grid.' She hated that answer. I loved it. It's so good to have you two, seriously. Welcome home, big brother."

"She really was a nightmare," Ohio chimed in, turning around in her seat to look at the couple. "But let's talk about the important stuff. How was it? The food! The views! Did Percy actually let himself relax, or was he being your bodyguard the whole time?"

"He actually relaxed. Well, mostly relaxed anyway. We went on an ATV—Percy drove it like he was in an action movie—and we spent a whole day on a catamaran. The water was so blue it looked unreal. I think I ate my body weight in feta cheese and octopus. But honestly? The best part was just... not having to look at a clock. For the first time in years, I felt like I could just breathe without feeling bad. It was perfect. But I missed you guys though. I missed the noise of the city, weirdly enough."

"I'm so jealous. I can't believe I missed out on such a wonderful experience." Ohio lamented with an exaggerated pout and Penelope laughed while reaching out to stroke her hair.

"There, there! You stayed back for a good reason. Don't be hard on yourself."

"Pen's right. And we can always go on a trip later." Gemini chimed in to comfort his best friend.

"That's right! All four of us should go together next time." Penelope agreed and Gemini looked up at Percy that squeezed hand with a smile, his thumb stroking his knuckles.

"Getting away from the chaos of the city once in a while is quite therapeutic." Percy admitted, his voice low and warm. "This vacation was the best one yet, but it's good to be back. I have a company to run, and a certain someone has a very important start date coming up." he finished, looking at Gemini.

"Oh, here we go! Boss Mode activated!" Ohio pointed a finger at Gemini, a wicked glint in her eyes. "Actually, let's talk about that. Gem, you are so lucky. Not only did you snag the most eligible bachelor in town, but now you're going to be his intern at Aethel Designs? Do you realize the power you have? You can literally spend all your time in the CEO's office and no one can say anything! You're literally the most powerful intern in the history of interns. Just don't forget us little people when you're busy being the Boss's Favorite."

"Ohio, stop it!" Gemini blushed a deep scarlet, hiding his face against Percy's shoulder. "It's a professional internship. I'm going to be working in the archives and the design department. I won't even see Percy that much."

"Please," Penelope snorted, weaving the Jeep through busy traffic. "Percy has already restructured the entire floor layout so Gemini's desk is within a ten-second sprinting distance of his office. I've seen the blueprints."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Percy said, though the smirk on his face suggested he knew exactly what she was talking about.

"I'm just excited to get back to a routine," Gemini said, his eyes catching the neon lights of the city. "I loved the freedom of doing nothing all day, but I'm ready to actually do something. And my internship at Aethel Designs... feels like a new chapter. I'm excited."

"A new chapter with a very hot boss," Ohio added, winking. "Good luck, intern. I just know you're going to ace this too."
