The glass of scotch shattered on the floor, breaking into small pieces, spilling the amber liquid all around it. Rosario stood there, glaring down at the mess he created.
"This is my home. Don't make a mess here," I said, begrudgingly downing a shot of vodka and relishing the burning sensation in my throat.
"Dominic is cutting our support system, and what are we doing? Nothing. Sitting here, waiting for the next piece of information that could ruin him," he bellowed, swinging his hand and landing a punch on the glass counter of the mini bar.
"If you break another thing in my house, I'll kick you out." I glared at him, and he glared back.
"Do you think about our mission at all, or are you only concerned about how well-kept your home is?" He scoffed and looked away before adding,
"When they say women are not made to lead, they are actually right. Look at yourself."
His insulting words were like a spark igniting a fire within me, and my face burned with rage.
