Chapter 171: Vegeta Steps In, Goku Takes the Stage
Son Gohan quietly turned to Shin, the Supreme Kai, and asked,
"Lord Supreme Kai, that Majin Buu is really powerful, but mentally, he's just like a child!"
"If we defeat Babidi, won't that stop Majin Buu from going on a rampage?"
Hearing Gohan's righteous reasoning, Shin instantly rejected the idea without hesitation.
"No! If Babidi dies, Majin Buu will no longer be restrained!"
"He might go on a killing spree and wipe out everyone! We absolutely cannot kill Babidi!"
Vegeta didn't care one bit about what Shin was saying. Without a word, he charged at Buu, fist raised.
"Boom!"
A heavy punch smashed directly into Buu's face, caving in all his facial features.
"Haah!" Vegeta yanked his fist back and immediately followed up with a flurry of afterimages. Fists rained down on Buu like a storm.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
In just a blink, Buu was left riddled with holes, looking absolutely ridiculous with dents all over his body.
"Buu... Majin Buu, why aren't you fighting back?!" Babidi stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
Next came a sweeping kick from Vegeta. Buu bounced away like a rubber ball, slamming into a mountainside and ricocheting off it several times before finally coming to a stop.
Just as everyone was still trying to process what happened, Buu casually stood up again. With a deep breath, he reverted to his original form.
"Oooh oooh… yay yay… la la la~!" As if nothing had just happened, Buu began dancing in place with light, playful steps.
"Damn it..." Vegeta looked humiliated, clenching his fists tightly and grinding his teeth.
"This bastard… he's ignoring me..."
Babidi, on the other hand, let out a deep sigh of relief and patted his wildly thumping chest.
"That scared the life out of me…"
"Stop messing around, Majin Buu! Hurry up and kill them all!"
"This is your first mission!!"
"Okay…" Buu reluctantly agreed, seeing the enraged Vegeta charging at him once more.
"Is it really not possible?" Gohan was still debating with Shin.
"I mean, Babidi's clearly the real problem here, isn't he?!"
"Don't be fooled by Majin Buu's appearance! Only Babidi's magic can seal him again. We cannot kill Babidi!!"
Shin stressed with a stern face, "Absolutely not! I truly believe that in the end, even Babidi won't be able to control Majin Buu anymore."
"Right, once Babidi seals him again, it'll be fine. Until then, we just have to endure," Kibito added.
"Sigh... I feel ashamed as the Supreme Kai, being completely useless like this."
Hearing Shin's helpless words, Lin Qi shifted his gaze toward Babidi. That smug bastard was still gloating—but he wouldn't be for long.
Watching Vegeta wail on Buu, Babidi shouted in fury, "Majin Buu! What are you doing?! Fight back already!"
Buu, now fully recovered, glared with puffed-up cheeks and steam hissing from the top of his head.
"You keep charging in and hitting me again!!"
"You really made me mad! I'm gonna eat you!"
"Heh... Eat me? And just how are you gonna do that?" Vegeta didn't take the threat seriously at all, brushing it off as more of Buu's childish nonsense.
"I'll eat you... Eat you!!" Buu's little steps suddenly quickened as he shot toward Vegeta.
"Hmph!" Seeing Buu rapidly closing in, Vegeta snorted and threw up both arms.
"Big Bang Attack!!"
A massive ki blast engulfed Buu's entire figure.
The tremendous explosion sent smoke billowing through the air, shaking the entire ship to its core.
"I'll eat you... eat you…" As the smoke cleared, Buu emerged completely unharmed, still shuffling forward with those tiny steps, now right in front of Vegeta.
"Whoa—!" Babidi, who had been nervous before, now raised both hands in glee.
"As expected of the Majin Buu created by my father—invincible!"
"Go! Take them all out!"
Despite his chubby appearance, Buu was frighteningly fast. He easily dodged Vegeta's sweeping kick, then leapt high into the air.
With his hefty frame, he kicked straight at Vegeta's abdomen.
The attack was so quick that even the alert Vegeta didn't have time to react. He was sent flying into a mountainside and crashed down.
"I want chocolate!" Buu grinned widely, and the antenna on his head aimed at Vegeta, firing off a strange beam.
"Bang!"
Everyone stared in shock as Lin Qi casually picked up Piccolo's hat, which had been lying nearby, and tossed it into the beam's path.
"Beep beep!"
The hat rapidly transformed into a piece of chocolate and dropped to the ground. Vegeta, who had just gotten up, stared blankly at it.
"This is..."
"Uncle Piccolo's hat just turned into chocolate?!" Gohan shivered in surprise.
"What kind of move is that?!"
"...I don't like you!" Buu glared angrily at Lin Qi for depriving him of his human-flavored chocolate.
"You made me miss my meal... I'm gonna turn you into chocolate!"
"What the heck's going on?" Even Goku looked confused.
"How'd Piccolo's hat end up as chocolate?"
"But never mind that… Lin Qi, don't interfere. Let me take this one."
Brushing aside the confusion, Goku focused on the charging Buu.
"Majin Buu, right? I'll be your opponent!"
"HAAAA!!"
With that, Goku powered up, his energy surging rapidly and cracking the ground beneath him.
A blazing aura burst from under his feet, sending powerful gusts of wind that made Buu's fat jiggle and his cape flutter.
The ship finally couldn't withstand the repeated beatings—it collapsed completely.
Everyone else jumped out of the wreckage and landed on the ground nearby.
"Will Dad be able to beat Majin Buu?" Gohan asked, glancing at the now-hatless Piccolo.
"Hmph… no idea," Piccolo replied, clearly in a sour mood. He gave Lin Qi a side glance, then summoned himself a new hat.
Trying not to laugh, Lin Qi leaned over to Piccolo's side.
"That's a neat trick. Can you teach me? Or at least whip me up a few extra martial arts uniforms?"
"You seem pretty interesting yourself…" Buu also floated into the air, locking eyes with Goku from afar.
With an excited shout from Goku, the battle began. In a blink, he was right in front of Buu, unleashing a fierce punch.
